As the family sat for breakfast the next day, the atmosphere was filled with anticipation for the upcoming Holi celebrations. Conversation flowed easily, with everyone discussing plans for the day.
Chacha ji had returned in the morning and was resting in his room, recuperating from his journey. Meanwhile, Karanveer had some last-minute work that required his attention, forcing him to stay a bit longer than expected. He assured everyone that Karanveer would return by evening.
Arjun and Manvi, eager to make the most of the day, suggested going sightseeing. However, Chachi ji hesitated, reminding them of the preparations needed for the evening pooja. Arjun countered, stating that almost everything was already taken care of, and they would return within a few hours.
After some back and forth, Chachi ji relented, granting permission for the excursion. "Thank you, Mummy," "thank you Kakimaa" both Manvi and Arjun exclaimed, wrapping her in a tight hug.
"You're suffocating me," Anditha teased, her affection evident despite her playful complaint.
With the decision made, Arjun and Manvi excitedly walked away, discussing the places they could visit in the limited time they had.
Ragini sat in her room, feeling a bit lost with most of the preparations completed the day before and the remaining few scheduled for the evening. Unsure of what else to occupy her time, she decided to message her husband, inquiring about his flight schedule.
Just as she hit send, there was a knock on her door. Arjun and Manvi stood there, their faces eager with anticipation.
"Bhabhi, chale?" Arjun asked, a hint of excitement in his voice.
"Kaha?" Ragini inquired, her confusion evident.
"Uff, Bhabhi, aap bhool gaye? Subha Maa ne permission di thi na bahaar jaane ki," Arjun chimed in.
"Haan, par woh tum dono ko thi, aur muje yahaan kaam hai," Ragini hesitated, aware of the tasks that still needed her attention.
"Chalo na, Bhabhi, please," Manvi pleaded, his eyes pleading.
"Par..." Ragini began, but was cut off by Arjun
"Yaar, we promise to return by 4 pm," he reassured, his voice full of sincerity.
With their persuasion and the promise of returning early, Ragini relented and agreed to join them.
As she followed them out of the room, her phone chimed with a new message. She stopped to read it, a smile spreading across her face as she absorbed the contents.
Arjun noticed her pause and walked towards her, curiosity evident on his face.
"Kon hai, Bhaiya?" he teased, nudging her playfully.
Ragini ignored him and walked ahead
As they reached the parking lot, Manvi and Arjun began to argue over who would drive, both eager to take the wheel. Ragini, growing impatient with their bickering, grabbed the car key and swiftly settled into the driver's seat, honking to grab their attention.
"It's unfair, Bhabhi," Arjun protested.
"If you want to go, then come; otherwise, stay here," Ragini replied firmly, her tone brooking no argument.
Arjun quickly slided into the passenger seat, while Manvi grumpily settled into the back and gave Arjun's hair a playful tug for snagging the front seat.
"So, where are we going?" Ragini asked, starting the car.
Arjun quickly input the destination into the navigation system, and as Ragini began to drive, memories flooded back to her of her first driving lesson. She had expressed her desire to learn to drive, and Arjun had eagerly volunteered to teach her. However, it was ultimately her husband who had patiently guided her through the learning process.
