                                                              《<><><><><>☆<><><><><>》

In the end, it wasn't mankind that destroyed the world. It was the creations of mankind that destroyed our world. It started off so harmless, and now look at it. It evolved past human comprehension thanks to humanity allowing it, those things, to live and evolve.

Jasper ran through the damp, cold streets of Ukara, trying his damn hardest to avoid angels. He constantly was looking behind him until he ran into a crowd, through that crowd he managed to escape angels into an alleyway, breathing heavily. Jasper stayed in that spot for several minutes before peeking his head out. Once he saw that the coast was clear he made a dash for it. Internally, Jasper was praying that Bernadette and Spencer didn't get caught; he knew they wouldn't, but better safe than sorry.

As soon as Jasper made it home he slammed and locked the door, making sure no one could enter.

"Bernadette? Spencer? Are you two here?" Jasper spoke in a semi-panicked, semi-calm voice as he looked around the house. Jasper ended up finding Bernadette in a closet,

"There you are Bernadette! You had me worried here. The angels didn't hurt you, did they?" Jasper sighed in relief as Bernadette shook her head.

"I'm fine Jasper! But they found Spencer and took him with them!" Bernadette was frantic, her face still wet from tears she cried earlier. Jasper pulled Bernadette into a tight hug.

"It's okay Bernadette, it will be fine. We will get him back." *Jasper spoke, trying to stay as calm and collected as he could in this situation. Afterall, his best friend got taken away. WHat else could he do?
"No one comes back from there Jasper! They either become an angel or go missing!" Bernadette shouted back at Jasper, her tone aggressive.

"Bernadette. You need to calm down." Jasper took a deep breath before continuing, "We will get Spencer back. We will get him back safely. Now, I need you to go have a bath and calm yourself. Understood?"
Bernadette nodded her head slowly, looking down at the ground. Jasper sstood up and offered her his hand.

"Good, now let me help you up there." Jasper's tone was soft and comforting, he smiled as Bernadette took his hand.

Jasper helped her up slowly, walking her to the bathroom. He started the bath up for her, putting some soap into the water. After filling the tub, Jasper lit a candle for her before stepping out of the room to let Bernadette bathe. He went to her room to fetch a change of clothes and 2 towels.

Jasper walked back to the bathroom, setting the clothes down on the bathroom counter before exiting once more.

Bernadette came out of the bathroom after about an hour, she had a towel draped over her shoulders so that the water in her hair wouldn't drip and soak her shirt. She walked out to the living room, sitting down quietly. Bernadette turned to look at Jasper, who seemed subtrist.
"You okay Jasper?" Bernadette spoke softly as she stared at him.
"Yeah, I'm fine, Bernadette. I'm just thinking about Spencer." Jasper's tone was soft and saddened, he was feeling nebulochaotic right now.
Bernadette went quiet, staring at Jasper. He looked so hurt right now, and Bernadette could just tell he was on the verge of a breakdown. As much as she wanted to, she knew she was unable to comfort Jasper.
"I'm scared. What if we don't get him back? I'm scared to lose him like I lost Esther." Jasper's voice was cracking as he choked down his sobs, the second his tears began falling down his face; Bernadette pulled him in close and held him tightly.
"I know you miss Esther, but we couldn't save her, she'd already played into their hands." Bernadette pulled Jasper closer, trying her best to comfort him. "We will get Spencer back, I will do anything to make sure of that."
Jasper wrapped his arms around Bernadette, burying his face into her shoulder as he let himself cry into her shoulder as she held him.

Jasper laid there, clinging to Bernadette. His hair was messy and his face was red from crying. Thankfully, he had stopped crying at this point; He just refused to move from that spot. That was until he heard the door unlock and swing open.     "Jasper! Where the fuck is Spencer?" Atticus shouted as he stormed over to Jasper, visibly pissed off.     "Atticus, leave him alone. Spencer got taken by the 'angels' and Jasper needs space to get that through his brain." Bernadette glared at Atticus as she spoke, her tone of voice being calm with visible annoyance and hostility.     Atticus froze on the spot, falling quiet as he stared between the two, ultimately turning his attention to Jasper. He didn't speak, just stared at him for awhile before muttering to himself "well, fuck." Atticus sat down on the couch, inhaling deeply.     "I think I know someone who can help us out here, if that's okay with you two?" Atticus offered a small smile while speaking, keeping his attention on Jasper.     "Really Atticus?" Jasper basically jumped up at Atticus' words, staring at him in shock and disbelief. "You'd help us?"     "I may hate the guy, but he's your friend. I also don't want you to experience the same thing again, what happened with Esther i mean." Atticus quietly looked away from the two.     Jasper felt tears start forming again as he remembered that day, the day his sister was taken. Leaving him to think about Spencer and what might happen to him. Jasper took a deep, shaky breath before looking up at Atticus.

"How do we get him back, Atticus? Please, I don't want to lose him too."
