A Brief Biography Of Adriana Peterson

Adriana Peterson, formerly known as Adrian Peterson, is a black, autistic, and trans woman who runs a shop and is in a wheelchair. But what is her backstory? Her motives? Why is she a shopkeeper? And why is she in a wheelchair? All of those questions and more will be answered.

**Birth Sign**

Adriana Peterson was not born at a designated time; she was an NPC for whom the DM gave very little consideration besides her family life. One could argue that, given her compassionate and nurturing nature, she could be seen as a Cancer.

**Family and Young Life**

In her youth, she dreamt of playing outside in the rain, while sadly watching the neighborhood kids enjoying themselves. Adriana is an only child; her parents, anticipating a girl, purchased numerous dolls and pink accessories. Despite this, they raised her as a girl, leading to her being teased for both her disability and attire.

**Origin of the Store**

The shop belonged to her maternal grandmother, and upon her grandmother's passing, Adriana took over the business. However, as a small business owner with what society views as numerous challenges, she struggles to make ends meet. So much so that she is willing to provide free merchandise to the group when they attempt to pay her due to their kindness.



**The Store's Aesthetic and Adriana's Character Design**

The Store, Adriana's Antique Boutique, has an inspiration from the 60's and 70's of the West. And she also has inspiration from those two decades. Meaning she has a fro, bead curtains, the interior and exterior of the store is wooden, the entire store has a boho chic vibe, record players, records from every black artist from that era, such as Diana Ross, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin and Martin Gaye.

The items in her shop range from as big as a penny-farthing, to several time pieces, and some as small as a pocket watch. There are a few pieces of furniture, a couple of magnifying glasses, many books, a record player, a few records, a couple of canes, a gramophone, a gun, a butterfly clip, a chandelier, a bird cage, and a gas lantern.

**Adriana's Physical And Mental Disabilities**

Adriana was born with cerebral palsy and diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder at a young age. As previously mentioned, she always wanted to play in the rain. She learned to walk with hand crutches but couldn't manage more than a few feet. She struggled with math in school and she graduated high school, but didn't achieve a passing grade in mathematics.

**The Fairy Potion**

While she was in her shop, a fairy came in to do business with her and gave her a potion with the ability to hard-wire people's brains into saying her name correctly. In return, Adriana gave the fairy her old name, that way, no one could ever say it again.



**Her Untimely Death**

When the group walked out of her shop, she was attacked by a vampire who drained her of her colors, literally.
Shortly after, the group avenged her death and one of the group members held her as she died. But instead of them comforting her, she comforts them. Her final exchange goes something like this:
Grr: Hey, Adriana, you're bleeding!
Adriana: *weakly* Y-yeah... I... I know...
Grr: No, you can't die!
Adriana: Don't you worry about little old me. I'll be with the Creator, I'll be able to run... And jump... And skip... And hop... And... And play in puddles...
Grr: But...
Adriana: Shhhhhhhh... *dies*
**End Scene**



**Her Afterlife**

As she said, she was entered into Heiwa no ōkoku, or in English, "The Kingdom of Peace". There, she can achieve her dreams of doing many things that most non-disabled people take for granted. Adriana left no next of kin and isn't on speaking terms with her parents. But the group throws her a lovely funeral.
They bury her in the ground and transfer her consciousness into a homunculus.
