The Track Formula

Chapter 1: Starting Fresh

          I start a new school today! It's a bit nerve racking... But oh well. I get my outfit ready. I wear a cute pair of light blue jeans with a cropped white shirt and some blazers. I put my hair in a claw clip with light makeup. I get my bag ready and head downstairs. "Good morning sunshine!" My mother cheerily chants. "Too early." I say. "Still not happy about switching schools?" My mom asks. "It's April, the middle of the school year, and I'm switching schools. That's so embarrassing!" I snap. "Well at least they have a track team." My mom tries to cheer me up. "Yeah, I guess." I say and leave the house and start to walk to school. Oh shit I forgot my track stuff and start running back home, I grab my track stuff and start heading back to school. My dad would be so pissed if I missed track.

          I walk into the office and get my schedule. "Hey sorry Ms. T, I was late tryna get my track stuff ready." Some blonde tall boy says. "Oh Jaden, this is y/n, she is new. I purposely put her in all of your classes so you can help her, I was going to find you at lunch but what perfect timing, except that you're late again." Ms. T explained. "Hi, I'm y/n!" I say excitedly. "I'm Jaden." He says starting to walk out the office "Bye mom!" He adds. I start to hurry after him. "So what's our first class?" I ask timidly. "Geography." he responds bluntly. We walk in silence.

          "Jaden, so nice of you to join us." Mr. Mack says with a sigh. "Who is your friend?" Mr. Mack inquires. "I'm y/n." I respond. "ohhhh our new student, eh." He says excitedly. "You sit with Jack, down three desks to the right please, Jack raise your hand." Mr. Mack explains. Jaden sighs. A small blonde boy raises his hand and smiles. I go and sit. "Ok class..." Mr. Mack starts to ramble on. I just start to doodle. "Ears back to me, we are going to now start an assignment, you will be with your name partners." Mr. Mack explains to us. "Rachel and Mike, Callum and Blake,(So on and so forth with names) Jaden and y/n" Mr. Mack reads. "Jack, looks like you're alone, just join y/n's group." Mr. Mack instructs.

          "Ok guys we should exchange socials so we can work on this." I recommend. "Sure, my snap is (Jack snap). I'll create the group." Jack says. "Ok, so for this assignment we need to do a presentation about Pangea, so we would all do research today and tonight then start working on the presentation tomorrow?" I suggest. "Sounds good." Jaden finally talks.

          "Jaden, wait up!" I ask. "Walk faster." Is all he responds with. We walked into a classroom on the main floor since Geo was on the top floor. "Science." Is all Jaden says when we enter the classroom.
