I DONT OWN ANYTHING IN THIS FANFICTION EXCEPT MY OC WREN. ALL RIGHTS GO TO RICK RIORDAN.
Wren Lavrensdottir knew three things in life.
One, being a half blood wasn't all fun and games. People died, all the time. And even with her powerful wild magic, she couldn't always save everyone. Even though she sure tried her damn hardest.
Two, she would do anything for her friends. They were her only family after her dad died, and she would die for any of them without a second thought.
Three, tea fixes everything.
This last opinion was not shared by her best friend Will Solace however. In fact he looked outraged that she had even suggested it as a solution when she walked into the infirmary covered in wounds she had just gotten from a manticore.
"What the heck could TEA do in this situation, Wren?!" Will said as he shoved her onto a cot, "You have been stabbed for the gods sakes! By a poisonous manticore tail barb!" he hurriedly helped her remove her armor so that he could reach the deep wound in her side.
"I guess this is the wrong time to show you where he cut me with his talons, huh?" Wren said, hissing in pain as Will used iodine to disinfect the wounds before he pulled out a pill and handed it to her, "What's this?" she asked.
"It's pain medication. I'm going to have to suture the wound, and it'll hurt like hell if you don't take it."
Wren paled at the mention of sutures, she hated needles. "No!" she caught herself, "sorry, but I can just use my magic instead, there's no need for stitches."
Will sighed, "Wren, you can't just use your magic for everything. One of these days you're going to push yourself to far and burnout. you need your strength right now." But Wren has already started to heal herself. She groaned with the pain and effort it took to make the wound more manageable. Soon the deep stab wound is only a scab, but using the last of her magic didn't fix everything. Instead, it made things much worse. Wren swayed back and forth as she sat on the cot, nearly falling off but Will caught her. "gods, Wren." he said, his voice full of concern as he gently laid her down on his bed, "why? why do you push yourself so much. You didn't need to do that."
"I know," Wren said, her voice was weak as she started to drift off into unconsciousness,* "I just hate needles..."
and with that, the world went dark.
