Hening. Hanya mata yang berbicara antara mereka. Endra Kai menapak perlahan menghampiri tubuh teman wanitanya, Kendra. Ada satu suara halus menyapa telinga Kai melalui ear piece yang dipakainya.
"Take her down, Kai," ujar rakan setugasnya.
Dia membawa kakinya satu tapak lagi kehadapan sebelum suara Kendra tinggi menyapa halwa telinganya.
"Don't you dare take another step towards me, Kai." Tajam mata Kendra menikam seraut wajah milik Kai.
"Stop this madness, Kendra. Apa yang you buat sekarang ni salah di sisi undang-undang. He's innocent!" Suara Kai ternaik sedikit di hujung ayatnya. Gerun melihat kekejaman wanita yang sangkanya lemah lembut dulu.
"Undang-undang? Innocent? Bullshit Kai! You know nothing about him!" Sepucuk pistol yang dipegangnya diangkat dan dihala tepat ke dahi lelaki yang sedang terduduk itu.
"Please darling, drop the gun." Suara Kai kedengaran seperti satu rayuan pada Kendra.
"Or what? You're going to kill me?" tanya Kendra tenang.
Kai memejamkan matanya sejenak, dan menarik nafas dalam. "If I have to. You know I can't let you do this. You're a serial killer, Kendra!"
Tenang tidak beriak sahaja wajah Kendra. Namun wajahnya terhias dengan senyuman sinis di bibirnya. Tawa kecil terlepas dari celahan bibirnya, dan dia melangkah setapak lagi menghampiri tubuh yang terikat itu.
Klak! Bunyi picu ditarik. Muncung pistol dihalakan tepat di dahi Hayder, lelaki yang terikat di kerusi dengan darah yang berlumuran di tubuhnya.
"Drop the gun, Kendra!" Amaran diberi sekali lagi oleh Kai. Laju tangannya menghalakan sepucuk pistol ke arah Kendra pula.
ENGLISH VERSION
Silence. Only their eyes spoke to each other. Endra Kai slowly stepped toward his girlfriend, Kendra. A soft voice reached Kai’s ear through his earpiece.
"Take her down, Kai," his colleague said.
He took one more step forward before Kendra's sharp voice pierced the air.
"Don't you dare take another step towards me, Kai." Kendra's eyes glared at her boyfriend's face.
"Stop this madness, Kendra. What you're doing now is against the law. He's innocent!" Kai's voice rose at the end of his sentence, horrified by the cruelty of the woman he once thought was gentle.
"Law? Innocent? Bullshit, Kai! You know nothing about him!" She raised the pistol she was holding and aimed it directly at the forehead of the man sitting on the floor.
"Please, darling, drop the gun," Kai's voice sounded like a plea.
"Or what? Are you going to kill me?" Kendra asked calmly.
Kai closed his eyes for a moment and took a deep breath. "If I have to. You know I can't let you do this. You're a serial killer, Kendra!"
Kendra's face remained calm and expressionless, but a cynical smile formed on her lips. A small laugh escaped her mouth as she took another step closer to the bound man.
Click! The sound of the trigger being pulled. The muzzle of the pistol was aimed directly at Hayder’s forehead, the man tied to the chair, covered in blood.
"Drop the gun, Kendra!" Kai warned again, quickly raising his own pistol towards Kendra.
