There I was, shoes off and hands dirty.

"Is growing up...worth it?" I ask he, who was never there.

"No, dear child. You will be taught to fear. Fear me, fear those around you, and fear the world. You will grow into one where you never rest...Fear feasts on your rest until there is none left."

The water below the soles of our weary feet begins to die.

"But...I would never fear you. You play with me! Though I don't remember your name..."

He chuckled as a quiet breeze blew through the green trees, rippling through the cool creek water.

"You have to wake up, little one...I know it hurts to wake up to a world of grey and rain...but I'm there in every laugh...You don't remember my name, but you'll know I'm there."

Blue dripped to black, green faded to grey, peace faded to pain.

"What's happening?..."

"You're waking up..."

"But I don't want to wake up, because deep down...I know I won't wake up here...with you at my cozy wood house and my family. I won't wake up to the snow fall outside my window, to the storms that would fill the creak so high, we'd be halfway to our necks! I won't wake up to a childhood..."

My hands trembled with a since of doom as everything became nothing, and nothing was the same.

"When I wake up...Will there be a creek and wood? A bridge and stone?"

"No.."

"No?..."

"No.."

"You will be forever pained with no relief in the horizon...Everything will hurt you. What you love will hurt you, but what you're not supposed to...wont. You will find comfort, but that comfort will become fear. They don't want you to have comfort little one...They will call me a demon...and you possessed...They will call this childish, and you, immature."

Thunder rolled in with glory as he beside me, sat like a stone, began to fade.

"In the end, we all become one with darkness." (William Afton)

I tilt my head, a tear of unfamiliarity drips onto the dry earth where the creak used to flow.

"What?..."

He who was nearly gone now, chuckled Horsely.

"Just a quote from someone you will always find comfort in...He will become the new me...But he, and others from his realm, will comfort you..."

"Remember me, for It's time to wake up child..."
