JUNGKOOK POV

Namjoon loomed in front of
me, lantern in hand,
shoulders back, chin up.

Seokjin stood wringing his
hands behind him.

"Why is this door open?"

"Who let you in?"

I was standing on the
threshold, not technically
inside but that wasn't the point.

"Your son can answer that question when he returns."

"Jimin opened the
door?" Namjoon glanced about.

"But the outside lights are
on, Is he hurt? Where is he?"

I replied calmly.

"He stayed in the shadows
and seemed fine."

"He just now went upstairs
to get some things."

It wouldn't do to lie.

Plus, I didn't really owe him
a detailed explanation.

At this point, that was
Jimin's decision.

"What things?"

Seokjin came up behind his husband and touched him on
the upper arm.

"Let's wait for Jimin and talk
to him."

Namjoon pulled away as if his husband was not even there.

He faced me, his mouth contorted.

"What are you planning?"

"You made promises."

"You signed a contract."

"The stipulations with Perfect Match were very clear."

"I understand that all too
well." I replied.

My blood was beginning to
heat up—this time not in a
good way.

"I am very willing to marry
your son, I'm not sure he is willing though."

Namjoon frowned.

"I don't understand."

In the darkness behind him, footsteps.

A shadow moved.

"Papa. Father." Jimin came
into view in the dimness.

He had a stack of boxes in
his arms.

Immediately, Seokjin went to him.

"Jimin, you can't leave."

"Papa." His voice remained
soft.

"I'm going into heat."

"You scented it yourself this morning."

Seokjin looked up at
Namjoon, pleading.

"What are we going to do?"

Namjoon shook his head.

"You aren't safe away from
this place."

"You must marry and wait
until accommodations can
be made."

Seokjin jerked back.

"Alpha', if it's true about his
heat, you know he can't wait."

I stood, watching the family drama play out, feeling guilty and anxious and thrilled all
at once.

Seeing Jimin sent shivers of pleasure through my body.

Watching his fathers
disapprove of everything that was happening brought out
the fixer in me, my mind frantically trying to think of
what to do to make
everyone happy.
