"Hurry up! I wanna see!" Claire whines from outside the dressing room.

After finding out that I was going to the dance with Bryce, Claire dragged me out to go dress shopping. We've been in the Greenburrow Mall twice and now we are in another Mall somewhere upstate.

"Hold it," I shouted back as I fastened the clip into place. I unlocked the door and stepped out for Claire to see me.

The dress was floor length, rippling around me like waves. It looked like the color of the ocean as the sun goes down, blue with a small hue of green. Different parts of the dress shimmer when I move, giving me the appearance of the ocean. Dazzling.

Claire's gasp was enough to prove me right.

"Oh my god! I love it! Bryce will want to marry you when he sees you in that!" Claire squealed as she grabbed my arms.

"It is very nice," I say somewhat shyly.

"Kelsey, it's gorgeous! What are you talking about!"

"I'm nervous," I whisper. Of course I've gone to a dance before, but I had never gone with a boy.

"He's going to love it, don't worry," Claire reassures me. I give her a meek smile and head back into the changing room to put my clothes back on.

I do a twirl in front of the mirror and Claire starts clapping beside me. My hair was curly and bouncy, and my make up was light, but enough to accent my face. The dress still fit perfectly and I slipped on some silver Peep toes to match.

The doorbell rang, echoing through my house, and Claire dragged me down the stairs, throwing the door open to see her date, a boy named Kevin.

She quickly wished me luck, gave me a goodbye, and bolted out the door to Kevin's car. From across the street, I watched as Bryce opened his front door, stepping outside. I quickly slammed my door shut and pressed me back against it, trying to breathe evenly.

Only about minute later, my doorbell rang, piercing my ears since I was so close. I waited a couple seconds then slowly opened the door.

Bryce wasn't wearing a tux or anything, but he was wearing a white button down shirt, dress pants, and a bow tie. His hair was still the same, but it still looked amazing. He held in his hands a small bouquet of roses, with which he handed to me.

"Thank you," I breathed, then turning slightly red from embarrassment.

His eyes traveled up and down my figure, taking my appearance in, and the way he studied my face made a knot form in my stomach. There was a crooked grin on his face as he offered me his hand. I quickly placed the roses in a vase along with some other flowers before grabbing his hand and pulling the door shut behind me.

"You look gorgeous," Bryce said, looking at my dress again. He led me to his car, and like a true gentleman, he opened my door for me. Once we were both in and the car pulled away did the silence get awkward.

"So what are these dances like?" I asked timidly, trying to break the ice.

"Pretty cool, I guess. Just a dance with food and a DJ. They announce a ice queen and a snow king, basically popular people amongst the town," Bryce explains, glancing at me occasionally.

We pretty much fall into a light conversation until we pull up to the building in which the dance will be held. A sign tells me that it's the mayor's house, but since the mayor's family is very much alive, it's apparently the location for parties. The building looks exactly the same as it did on Earth. Giant pillars holding up a Greek themed ceiling with a Roman styled dome. The grass is neatly trimmed and the bushes and trees still lol like something out of a movie. The paved driveway was packed with cars, and there were cars lined all down the street. There were multi colored lights flashing out the windows and I could see the silhouettes of people dancing inside. As I'm taking in the scene before me, Bryce pulls open the door on my side and offers me a hand. I smile and take it, pulling myself up and next to Bryce.

He leads me up to the front door and we enter the large building. We are greeted by loud pounding music and loud chatter and laughter from all the teenagers in the room. And the night begins.

I know this was a short chapter but I have some news. I have way too many books in the process of being written right now. So I'm going to be taking a break from this book until I finish the ones I started before it. I won't forget about this book, I promise.

I love you guys!! I love you so much that I even wrote this small chapter before I took a break. Please help this book become more popular by recommending it to your friends.

Thanks!
