General Devendra's Manor --

In the dimly lit chambers of the grand room, Abeera sat upon a cushioned divan, her features twisted into a mask of frustration and rage. Her once immaculate facade was now marred by the telltale signs of sleepless nights and frayed nerves, evidence of the relentless torment that gnawed at her from within.

With a heavy sigh, she cast her gaze around the opulent chamber, taking in the lavish furnishings and gilded accents that spoke of her elevated status within the noble hierarchy. But despite the trappings of power that surrounded her, Abeera's heart burned with a seething resentment—a bitter reminder of all that she had sacrificed in pursuit of her ambitions.

"How could it have come to this?" she murmured, her voice a trembling whisper that betrayed the turmoil raging within her. "I thought I had everything under control, every move calculated to perfection. And yet... and yet..." Her words trailed off into a choked sob as she buried her face in her hands, her fingers tangling in the silken strands of her hair. The weight of her failures pressed down upon her like a leaden shroud, suffocating her with the crushing weight of her own inadequacy.

" I was so close..... " she whispered hoarsely, her voice thick with unshed tears. "So close to achieving everything I ever wanted. And now it's all slipping through my fingers, like grains of sand in an hourglass.

Abeera's mind flashed with images of her past triumphs—the sweet taste of victory as she manipulated Padmini with her honeyed words, the heady rush of power as she ensnared Devendra in her web of deceit. But now, those moments of glory seemed like distant echoes of a bygone era, drowned out by the deafening roar of her own failure.

"How could this have happened?" she muttered to herself, her voice a low, venomous hiss that echoed off the walls of the chamber. "I did everything according to plan. I befriended Padmini, seduced Devendra, manipulated them both like puppets on a string. And yet... and yet..."Her words trailed off into a growl of frustration as she clenched her fists in impotent fury.

Despite her best efforts, she had failed to secure the coveted position of Devendra's main wife—a title that had always been her ultimate goal, her driving obsession.

"Damn them both! " she spat, her eyes blazing with a fiery intensity that belied the storm raging within her.

"Damn Padmini for standing in my way, damn Devendra for being so blind to my charms. They will pay for their arrogance, mark my words! " Abeera hissed, poisonous words spewing out of her mouth.

As she spoke, Abeera's mind raced with memories of her carefully laid plans—the countless hours spent ingratiating herself with Padmini, the whispered promises of love and devotion she had whispered into Devendra's ear, the treacherous schemes she had concocted to eliminate anyone who stood in her path.

But! despite her best efforts, fate had conspired against her at every turn. Padmini's indomitable spirit had proved to be a formidable obstacle, her unwavering loyalty to Devendra a thorn in Abeera's side.

And as for Devendra himself,  he remained stubbornly oblivious to her machinations, his affections divided between his two paramours with a maddening indifference.

With a frustrated growl, Abeera rose from her seat and began to pace the length of the chamber, her steps echoing off the polished marble floors with a hollow ring. She knew that she could not afford to dwell on her failures, not if she hoped to achieve her ultimate goal.

"No," she muttered, her voice a steely whisper that cut through the silence like a knife.

"I can't go back," she whispered, her voice barely audible above the pounding of her own heart. "I can't go back to being nothing, to being a mere pawn in someone else's game. I won't let it happen."
