In a world governed by the Book of Life and Rules, society is neatly divided into three distinct sexualities: Alpha, Beta, and Omega. Alphas, the dominant class, occupy the most prestigious positions as leaders, scholars, scientists, and CEOs. They possess the rare ability to either become pregnant or impregnate an Omega. Betas, the average citizens, serve in supportive roles, assisting both Alphas and Omegas. While Beta women can conceive, Beta men cannot. Omegas are revered for their fragility, purity, and femininity, making them the ideal partners for Alphas. Their unique pheromones are irresistible to Alphas but go unnoticed by Betas.

Discrimination is an unfortunate reality in this society. Betas often find themselves stifled in their career advancement, while Omegas are frequently overlooked for jobs and opportunities due to their perceived fragility and the allure of their pheromones.

I, Lois V. Naval, a 29-year-old computer scientist and field researcher, have left behind the familiarity of my provincial city to study alongside with the Alphas in the picturesque town of Lunaria. Renowned for its unique architectural design featuring stairs and stacked rooms in every building facing the moon, Lunaria offers a scenic ocean view, expansive farmland, and a laid-back provincial life. I'm renting an apartment in an old house near the church.

Having fled a job where my innovative ideas were routinely dismissed and stolen due to my Beta status, I see my research in Lunaria as a golden opportunity to make a tangible impact and prove my worth.

Our research team is a small but diverse group. Dr. Alain Santos, our Alpha leader, is a towering figure in the world of engineering and robotics. Standing at 5'10", with a reserved and introspective demeanor, he's a man of few words, usually only speaking up when it pertains to our research. His subordinate, Mr. Manalolo, a Beta with a background in agriculture, couldn't be more different. Also standing at 5'10", Mr. Manalolo is always seen in his round glasses and formal suits, his friendly demeanor and perpetual smile serving as a stark contrast to Dr. Alain's seriousness. While Dr. Alain is an atheist and Mr. Manalolo is a devout follower, I consider myself an agnostic Christian.

During my time in Lunaria, I have also formed close bonds with the excluded residents of the town who live in the brothel in the Red Light District, as well as with the seminarians, Dominican friars, and priests from the town church. These interactions have broadened my understanding of the town's social fabric and added depth to my experience in Lunaria.

In this setting, I am determined to navigate the difficulties of our research, contribute significantly to the team, and make a lasting impact on the community of Lunaria. Yet, I can't help but be excited to immerse myself in such a different culture than mine.
