Chapter 7: The Downfall of Roommates

"Hey babe, are you okay?" Gabriel asks as soon as he catches up.

"I just had a major falling out with Jakie. She is mad because I'm moving into a couples room with you and not staying with her. I feel bad, but I want to take our relationship to the next level and I want to sleep in the same bed as you. I don't want to feel trapped being in a room without you and having to go to another one just to have sex. It hurts me to have to do that because I want to be able to do it without someone watching over us. I don't know why she is mad at me when I just want to be happy with you." Sophia breaks down into tears and opens up to Gabriel about everything she has been feeling.

Gabriel, shocked by it all, responds "Why didn't you tell me sooner? I would've loved to have a room with you so long ago."

"I didn't want to rush our relationship. It was hard rushing straight into it after meeting, but I wanted to make sure you were the one before making any big decisions."

"I get it. You're afraid. Jakie is jealous. I've been here for 1,000 years waiting to be reborn. She got here 300 years after me and had 4 roommates before you. Everyone is reborn at different rates. I'm one of the oldest souls here and completely understand how she feels. It's never easy losing a roommate to a relationship or being reborn. I hope you understand where she is coming from."

"I get it. It's hard. I hope there is someone who will be there with her until she is reborn because she is a great soul. Thank you for listening and explaining it."

"No problem. Let's get you something to eat." Gabriel stands up and holds his hand out.

Sophia accepts his offer to help her stand and they walk inside together. While eating, they get to talk about the first things they are going to do in their new room. They were excited to see what Astaroth had planned for them without being able to see it. After eating, they go to Astaroth.

Astaroth, the devil he is, greets them.

"Welcome back to my office. I'm sure you know why you are here today."

"We think we know, but you always have tricks up your sleeve." Gabriel jokes and they both laugh.

They must be good friends. I've never seen a friendship this close before. Sophia thinks to herself.

"The room is ready for you two lovebirds. However, I did hear the conversation you guys had and I made some last-minute renovations. Normally, every room has a camera. That is to ensure the safety of everyone. I trust you guys to not hurt each other. Gabriel, you have been a good soul, and you don't match your profile. You don't deserve to be here, but your past life choices put you here. Sophia, I can understand why you are here, but your personality doesn't match your profile either. I will determine the future for you guys later on. Maybe in a few hundred years, you will both be released into new bodies. As of right now, you are stuck here. The temperature will be going up soon, so be aware of that. If you have any questions, let me know. Here are the rules for the couples' room, as I can't keep an eye on you guys, I expect you to let me know if anything bad happens between you two. In the case of a break-up, you both will be moved back into single housing and will not get a chance to move back unless you have new partners. Am I understood?" Astaroth explains and hands over the rules.

"Yes sir. You will not be seeing or hearing any problems between us." Gabriel proudly states.

"I understand as well Astaroth. Thank you for this opportunity." Sophia responds.

They head to their new room with Astaroth and are amazed by how it looks. They weren't expecting such perfection. They both thanked Astaroth. Astaroth left the room to let them get settled in and explore the room. It was filled with things they had in common. They also had their own areas where they could go to do their own things as well. The room looked more like a house. They both explored and went to see what the other person's room looked like. After settling in, they went to explore their new section. While they were exploring, they saw the same things as they had in the single housing, but filled with couples. Everyone was welcoming and invited them to hang out.

Throughout the day, they met a lot of people and went to the bar with a few couples. One of the couples they went with is married. Julian and Isla Hawthorne are a testament to the belief that opposites attract, yet together, they form a harmony that is both inspiring and steadfast. While at the bar, they all get a little too much to drink and head back to their rooms. It has been a hard day for Gabriel and Sophia, so they went to their room. Sophia fell asleep immediately while Gabriel played some video games on his computer. After gaming for a few hours, Gabriel decides to head to bed. When he lays down, he wraps his arms around Sophia's waist, holding her like the princess he thinks she is.

Waking up in the morning, Sophia's head was pounding. She goes into their kitchen to make some coffee and plays games for a while on her computer. After a few hours, Gabriel wakes up and grabs a cup of coffee.

"Good morning, sleepy head." Sophia starts, giving him a little bit of the sass Gabriel fell in love with.

Gabriel sets down his coffee cup and picks her up out of her chair and carries her to their bedroom while she is giggling, kissing her passionately. Laying her down gently, he starts giving her a rub down she never felt before this. The gentle touch of his hand rubbing all over her. They end up having more passionate sex. They didn't go as long as they did before though. As they are both satisfied with how it turned out, they lay in the bed with his arms around her while they cuddle. After the cuddle session, Gabriel starts planning how he would like to propose.
