The Creswick family empire was not without its rather questionable assets; sure, the industry conglomerate was a proud, generations-old shareholder and owner of massive oil rigs and factories galore, but robber barons with far too much money on their hands and too many bottles of aged wine are prone to make ridiculously incompetent business deals and purchases.
Such was the case for Dorian's father, jubilant and incoherent on Prosecco after receiving the news that his 7th baby would finally be a boy and carry the family name. The boy would be his pride and joy, a symbol of the strong, masculine leadership befitting of the Creswick legacy. Like any good father, he would decide to play his role after only 6 children finally; he'd go on weekend fishing trips with the boy, teach him about girls, share his first beer with him when he deemed him old enough, and most importantly, play ball with him. He'd be an athlete, a total catch!
But, Damian Creswick was no regular man, no. He'd show his son his true devotion as a new-made father of six-now-seven children through what mattered the most: monetary value.
It was like this, at the wee hours of the night, away from his pregnant wife and 6 daughters, that he made the call to the president of the MLB (yes, Major League Baseball) and someway, somehow, managed to purchase an entire baseball team and rename it within the span of 20 minutes (15 of which were spent trying to come up with a name in a drunken haze, and another 5 devoted to catching up with the president of the league and his recent family trip to St. Barts.)
Thus, the 'Creswick Royals' baseball team was born (or rather, reborn, as the MLB was competent enough to give the drunk Creswick a baseball team irrelevant enough that no one really minded or noticed the change.)
