CASEY'S POV:
"So who's this girl?"
I looked at grandpa intensely. I didn't expect he'd know early. I'm scared of him knowing but here it goes it's already happening, what's the point of being scared?
"Is she from your class?"
He just called me to come to his office just to ask questions about my love life? Tss I still have to meet my girlfriend's family tomorrow.
"Hmm? My princess? Bingi ka na ba?"
I inhaled deeply.
"Her name is Sarah and she's an architecture student." I answered.
"Oh okay, who's more dominant?"
"Grandpa..."
"I want to know if the girl is worth it. I keep getting reports, araw-araw kayong nagsasama after class."
I'm expecting this, kahit gaano pa ako kaingat. Sa dami ba namang mga tao na hilig mangialam.
"She is worth it. I love her." I answered and I saw him halted. I know no one in my family will expect that I'm gay, baka nga wala pang tumanggap sa akin.
"Kailan pa?" tanong niya. "Bakit hindi ko nalaman agad."
"You were busy finding me a prince that will pass your standard," I answered. I heard him chuckle. I grew up with lolo, I'm more close to him and I also know I'm his favorite. I'm more like him compared to my cousins.
Siguro rin, because I don't have a complete family. My mom and dad are separated, no one knows because there's no need to. My mom is always busy and my dad is more happy with his new family.
Lolo spoiled me a lot, and he also inspires me, motivates me. I even took engineering because of him. Sa kanya ko rin namana ang hilig ko sa music. He's right, music really can help you calm and feel at peace.
He forced me to take guitar lessons kahit ayoko and now that I'm old enough to make decisions on my own, I'm thankful. Learning how to play a guitar helped me a lot. I created friends through my guitar and music, I even pulled a girl because of my guitar skills.
"Do you really love her? Are you sure you're not just confused?"
I smiled and looked away.
Yeah I do love Sara. It just happened.
"I love her lo," sagot ko.
"Okay, I would like to meet her."
Natulala ako sandali. I didn't expect this from lolo.
"Are you sure?" I asked.
"Yes? Bakit naman? Gusto kong makilala ang mahal ng apo ko," sagot niya na ikinatulala ko ulit. He's not like this though we're close he's also strict.
"Apo?"
"Ah...yes lolo." But I know my baby is not yet ready.
"Your mom knows about this?"
I shook my head as an answer.
"Well you better tell her now, we all know what your mom is."
"She's your daughter lo," sagot ko.
"Kaya nga." And we both laugh.
"I really thought lo, homophobic ka," sabi ko at nakita kong nagulat siya sandali sa sinabi ko.
"Hey, it's not a nice word to say," he said and I just smiled. "Grabe ka naman sa lolo mo."
"Bye lo, I still have to meet my girlfriend tomorrow."
