Nathan continued feeding Georgie and talking to Maxie until his break was over and he kissed her goodbye "I love you I'll be home late. Kiss the girls goodnight for me."

Maxie "I will. I love you too. I will probably just watch a movie after putting them to bed."

Nathan "You do what you want. I will just slip into bed quietly when I get home."

Maxie "Bye."

Nathan left blowing a kiss to his girls and Maxie sighed as her fiancée left Kelly's.

Nathan went back to the station refreshed and worked a case with Dante until it was time to go tuxedo shopping.

Dante looked at some not liking them.

Nathan had a swatch of color from Maxie and looked for accessories to go with his tuxedo.

He found a bow tie a cumber-bun and shoes.

Dante "I like the royal blue she picked. It'll look great on both of you."

Nathan "Yeah she said it will bring out the blue in our eyes."

Dante "I'm going to have to agree."

Patrick "This is really exciting that you're getting married to Maxie. She must be so thrilled."

Nathan "She is. I am. We love each other so much. We have those beautiful twin girls and I can't see one moment of my life without her at my side."

Jason "I had to re commit myself to Sam after realizing I was Jason Morgan that whole time. I never realized the love of my life was in front of my face that whole time."

Nathan "I'm glad you did. You two seem really happy."

Jason "We are."

After finishing their shopping trip they went out for drinks at the floating rib.

Mac "What can I get you?"

Dante "Beer."

Mac "Are you sure you don't want champagne? After all Nathan is going to be getting married."

Dante "Alright we will take both."

Mac "I'll just keep the bottle open and available."

Patrick "Sounds good Mac."

Just as Nathan Patrick Jason and Dante were toasting to love marriage and family a man walks into the establishment and points a gun at the men.

Mac jumps in front of Nathan without hesitation and before Nathan could do anything he noticed that Mac was on the floor bleeding.

Patrick called it in and Dante applied pressure to his wound.

Mac lay bleeding and slowly fading in and out of consciousness.

Maxie was at home feeding Isabella and Angelica before changing their diapers and laying them I'm their cribs.

She checked her phone to see how Nathan was but there was nothing.

She messaged him and it was about two hours later when she got some unsettling news.

Nathan and Jason went after the man but would be surprised to know who he worked for.

Nathan now took a moment to text Maxie "I won't be home for a while. Mac is at the hospital. Jason and I are searching for the man who shot him. I have no idea who he works for yet but once we know I will let you know everything. I love you! I miss you!"

Maxie looked at her phone in shock "Oh my god! Uncle Mac was shot?"
