The next morning, Sehun woke up and stared at the ceiling in a daze. He felt as though his brain had turned into mush. It took him some time to process what had happened.
His arm felt slightly numb. He lowered his head and saw that Tzuyu was sleeping in his embrace!
He jumped awake in fright and with his movements, the woman in his arm slowly woke up.
"I'm so tired... let's sleep a little longer." Tzuyu rubbed her eyes and tugged the sheets closer to herself to yawn.
Memories of their intimacy from last night slowly came back to his mind. Sehun nearly lost his voice from his shock. "Why is it you?"
Why was it Tzuyu? Last night, it had clearly been Jennie!
It was clear that in his drunken state, he had seen wrongly and mistaken her for someone else.
"I came to look for you." Tzuyu murmured. "Then, you pulled me onto the bed..."
"I... I'm sorry!" Sehun did not know what to say. He scrambled off the bed and picked up his clothes from the ground before stumbling out of the room.
After he left the room, the drowsiness in Tzuyu's gaze disappeared. She sat up and began to tear up.
Truthfully, she had woken up before he did. However, she did not know how to face him and could only pretend to be asleep.
Last night, she had already become his. However, at that vital moment, his words had been, "Jennie..."
His heart would not ache for her tears and pain.
To think that all he had for her was an apology.
He left without even thinking to take responsibility for her.
Forget it.
Things like responsibility were no longer meaningful.
Her heart was already thoroughly broken.
She had pursued him for two years, but never gotten hold of his heart.
Perhaps this was better.
Tzuyu picked up her lavender dress from the floor and got dressed numbly. She had thought he would praise her for her beauty.
What was the point of hoping for such things from a man who could not see her?
She put on her heels and staggered out of the room...
Sehun's heart was both overwhelmed and numb. He visited a nearby store and purchased two portions of breakfast before returning to the Kim family's villa.
However, Tzuyu's car was no longer parked in the front yard.
He headed to the third floor and as expected, she had already left.
He dropped the breakfast on the ground. He also did not have the appetite to eat. He turned to head towards the yard. He wasn't sure why, but he was worried about Tzuyu.
Although he did not love her, she had accompanied him for two years.
Earlier, he had run away as though to escape. That must have hurt her a lot, didn't it?
He brought his phone out and typed out her number. However, he paused at the last digit and deleted the numbers.
This repeated endlessly. Thirty minutes later, he finally called her number. All he could hear on the other end was a mechanical voice. "The number you've dialled is currently unavailable."
It was working hours. Perhaps she had gone to work?
Sehun drove to the office. In the past, he would never pause when he passed by the secretary's office.
Right now, however, he took the initiative to knock against her office door.
"CEO Kim, Miss Chou hasn't come to work yet." A cleaning lady informed him.
Sehun then entered his office to wait. After an afternoon, Tzuyu still did not appear.
He returned to the Hong Sheng District and assumed that she would be waiting for him at home.
Home...
For the past two years, she always insisted on living here. Without realising, he had grown to treat this place as Tzuyu's home as well.
