Chapter 5

Chapter Five Eva's POV:

I got the snacks and drinks for the team I just they all really like it if they don't I blame Matt. I don't know how I should address him about this California thing. I picked up Sabrina after I went to the school I didn't want to be alone at the practice for 3 hours. "Eva are you sure bringing me is a good idea?" I turned on the left corner and parked the car. I sat there for a minute and took a deep breath, "of course it is. He wouldn't do anything anyway. Help get the food and drinks out." We carried 2 big coolers filled with food and drink for the team. I saw Matt turn around with a smile and he started to run towards us then he just stopped, "I thought I said not to bring Sabrina." I put one of the coolers down, "Matt could you just be thankful I took the time out of my busy day to go get food for all 15 of you guys. I needed help anyway I don't get what the big deal is anyway." I took a seat on the bleachers. "Sabrina leave now." I knew I was in trouble when Matt said that. "I can't she's my ride." "Then go somewhere else! I need to talk to Eva." I put my head down in fear of what might happen next. Sabrina left but I saw she didn't go too far. "I told you not to bring her. Why didn't you listen?" I didn't want to answer. "Matt why do you always have to be an asshole to me? Just stop already I wanted to talk to you privately and you just completely ignored me when I asked you!" I put my face in my palms realizing I made a huge mistake. I saw all of his friends turn around and paid more attention to us arguing than actually practicing. "I told you to not ever yell at me again." Right when he said that he hit me. "Matt!" I started to cry my eye was throbbing from the pain. "Go get me my phone." I got up holding my eye and I saw Matt's friend Joe running up to Matt I couldn't exactly make out what they were saying but it was about me because they kept pointing at me. When I went to the locker room to get my phone I called my mom, "Mom I'll be a little late I'm at Matt's practice right now." My voice was shaky and I was holding back my tears. "Alright are you okay?" "Yeah mom I'm fine. I love you." "I love you too." I grabbed Matt's phone and walked back outside but I came back with an ice pack on my eye. "Here's your damn phone." He kissed my head, "I'm sorry baby." "No Matt leave me the fuck alone. I'm leaving." Matt grabbed my wrist and I swear I think he was trying to break it, "Matthew let go of me." I wiggled my hand out of his grip but he kept trying to pull me in." "Matt just let her go." I heard Joe yell from the field. I ripped my hand out of his grip and started to walk towards his car, "Eva that's my car!" I ignored what he said. "Looks like you'll need to get a ride from one of your friends." I saw Sabrina at the front of the school, "what happened! Are you okay?" "Does it look like I'm fucking okay? He hit me and now my eye is gross looking. I can't go home like this. I need to stay at your place!" I called my mom telling her I needed to stay at Sabrina's house for school project.

When we arrived at Sabrina's house her mom saw my eye, "oh my god! Are you okay! What happened?" Sabrina didn't say what exactly happened she said I tripped and hit my face on the wall I laughed. Her mom gave me another ice pack. "Mom we'll be upstairs in my room." "Alright keep the ice on your eye Eva!" When we got up to Sabrina's room my phone started to ring, "Sabrina it's him!" I looked at the screen deciding if I should answer or ignore it. "Ignore it. Decline the call." "Sabrina he's going to kill me if I don't answer!" Sabrina yanked the phone out of my hand and threw it in her closet, "ignore it." The phone kept ringing it wouldn't stop. After the phones I got texts:

8:00pm M: Eva

8:32pm M: Answer your damn phone.

8:34 M: Eva I'm sorry!

8:36pm M: EVA ANSWER THE FUCKING PHONE!!!!!!

8:36pm M: EVA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

8:37pm M: IF YOU DON'T ANSWER ITS GOING TO BE OVER.

8:49pm M: Whatever Eva you can't leave me forever.

"Sabrina he broke up with me!" I started to cry tears streaming down from my eyes. "Good! He was an asshole anyway and you know it!" I couldn't believe what I had just read. Did he really just break up with me because I brought Sabrina with me to the practice? He's completely overboard. "Should I tell him now?" I unlocked my phone and thought of something to say.

9:00pm E: Fine Matt you want to breakup with me do it in the proper way not over text. I don't care if we don't talk anymore. I wanted to have a sincere talk with you but whatever. Since we're over I might as well just spill it all; well we bought a summer house in California I wanted to take you for summer break but now that we're over that idea is out of the picture. So my parents decided to move there so I guess this will be the final goodbye.

I spent most of the night thinking of how to word how I feel and how he would react. What will happen tomorrow? Should I even go to school? "Sabrina I don't know what to do." Sabrina hugged me and all I did was cry and explain how I was tired of how he treated me. I'm pretty sure I was annoying her. "I'm glad you did what you had to do. If anything happens maybe Joe could do something don't you have his number?" I thought about that suggestion and it isn't a bad idea. "Yeah I'll text him right now."

E: Hey Joe so I know we barely even talk but Matt just broke up with me and he flat out said I was a slut and I just wanted to know if you could control him try to keep him as far as possible from me. I can't go home looking like this anymore.

J: Yeah of course. Are you okay? What do you mean anymore? Has he done this before?!

E: Yeah well yeah.. I usually just cover it with makeup so he wouldn't look like a bad person.. Please don't say anything!

J: Eva! Why didn't you say anything!?

E: ...mmm because he said not to tell anyone or we would be over and I didn't want to lose him! Just please watch him.

J: Alright we just get well.. if you need anything else don't hesitate to call me.
