ALEX'S POV

Have you ever had that person that you used to be really close with, and when you finally talk with them after a few years it's just...awkward?

That's how I feel with my Dad. Although I thought he would still work a lot, he's actually making attempts to not work all the time. Like last weekend he asked me if I wanted to go for a ride in his boat, I didn't even know he had a boat and let me tell you it was huge. I knew my parents were always making good money, but I never knew exactly how good their salary was. My Dad's been trying to spoil me ever since he's been home, buying me clothes, books, and things I have no intentions of having. The only thing I agreed to is his new car offer, I mean how could I let that pass? Not that I don't like my Jeep anymore or anything but a Porshe is nice too.

School is doing pretty good, well besides finding out that Steve, Kendal's ex, has been dating this girl for longer than we thought, it has been pretty good.

And Marcus, well Marcus and I are pretty good I guess. We've been dating for about a month now, and it's been fun. I mean how are you supposed to describe a relationship, we're in love, he gets lost in my eyes, he's my other half? No, I'm not the girl to obsess over a relationship but don't get me wrong I'm enjoying it.

Marcus and I are just so chill together, there's no pressure, no embarrasment no anything we're just so comfortable infront of each other.

It was a little weird at first since I guess you could say we started our relationship backwards, we had sex first then started dating. It was weird cause we weren't sure if that would make it okay for us to have sex again or not, I would be fine either way though. haha

That morning I woke up in his bed was crazy, it was like what I had been waiting for to happen for like almost 3 years. No not the sex part, but for him to see me as something besides his sister's best friend. We've gone out on a few dates, but nothing too over the top and that's how I like it. I don't have to be nervous around Marc because he's just so soothing and nice.

The best part? He never pressures in into something I don't want to do.

"Alex." Marcus said bringing me back to reality. He laughed at me and motioned to the light. "The lights green." He said. I shook my head smiling and pressed the gas and accelerated pushing us back against the seats. Porshe's really do go fast. I smiled as I looked over to Marcus who looked scared.

"You like this car too much." He said as I started to slow down, well if 80 is slowing down. I laughed and nodded.

"Way too much." I said, then remembered the first time I drove this thing. "Hey, it's better than the first time." I said, Marcus sighed and chuckled.

"Yeah, don't remind me." He said.

The first time I drove this car, I picked Marc up from his house. Of course I was on this energy from getting a new car, so I decided to test it. I picked Marc up and drove slightly over the speedlimit until I found the Mall was closed that day so the parking lot was empty. I wasn't going to let an oppurtunity like that go, so I pulled into the parking lot. I only went 200 when I thought Marcus was going to piss his pants. I stopped and started laughing at him. Yeah, he doesn't like to talk about it but sometimes I can't help myself.

"I'll see you tomorrow right?" Marc asked as I dropped him off infront of his house. I nodded and kissed him goodbye.

"Yeah. What time again? I forgot." I confessed, laughing. Marc kissed me on the cheek one last time and got out.

"Eight, oh and I'll give Kendal my Jersey for you to wear." He said, and closed the door. As he was walking up to his house, I reved my engine making him laugh. I drove back home to see my Dad's car along with a red BMW. I think that's my Mom's car, but it could be my Dad's client or something.

I pulled up next to the cars and walked up to the front door.

"Dad, I'm home." I said looking around the house for him and this mystery person. If it was bussiness he would be in his office so I checked the kitchen first. I found him sitting on the island with my mother, the last time I saw her was late June. She looked similar, yet different. She spent the last few months in New York City, the lack of sun got to her. She was usually pretty tan, well pretty much everyone in Hawaii is, but she looked fairly pale.

"Hello my dear," My Mom said hugging me hello, "I missed you so much!" She said still hugging me.

She pulled away and looked at me with guilt.

"Your father and I would like to talk to you." She said and motioned for me to take a seat. I sat down and wondered what they were about to say. There's two options; good or bad. Bad being they had to leave again, maybe for a short time being the good.

"Honey, your Mother and I just finished talking and," My Dad said looking at my Mom for approval, "We realized that we haven't been the most supportive parent's, not being here for first day's of school, track meets, and things parent's should be there for. So we came up with a mutual decision to...stay home for a while." She said.

At first I felt guilty for making them say that cause I knew they loved their jobs, but then I realized why the fuck would I be guilty, they left me alone for pretty much my whole life.

"Yeah, that sounds pretty good." I said getting up and grabbing an ice pop from the freezer, not sure on how to react to something like this. My parents both got up and hugged me, which was pretty weird.

"You want to see a movie tonight or something? Or maybe go on the yacht for the week?" My Dad asked.

"Guys, I totally love your attitude about being good parents for me, but I still have school." I said and started walking up to my room but my Mom stopped me.

"Wait!" She said stopping me, I turned around. "We're not exactly done." She said looking at my Dad. What else could they have to say? She's been home for all of 10 minutes.

"Okay, shoot." I said sitting on the island again.

"I'm pregnant." She said. My mouth dropped and my eyes opened wide, PREGNANT?

"You're what?! But you're...you're old!" I said totally shocked. My Dad chuckled and shook his head.

"We're only 40." He said.

"Yeah, I know. Are you sure?" I asked totally doubting it was true. My parent's can hardly turn on the TV, I doubt they can read a pregnancy test correctly.

"Wer just got back from the doctor's office, it's positive." SHe said. I laughed and walked up to my room.

I seriously can't believe this.
