The dance at Eden school had ended. Every kid had left, accompanied by a servant, telling them how the party went. Most children had enjoyed the food, the dance, and everything but some still would criticize, saying their parents could have furnished way better food and decoration.
Anya was the only one who had her parents present to get her. As much as it was normal, for the others, sons and daughters of important and busy people, it was a sign of being a 'peasant' as Damian Desmond called her.
But Anya couldn't care less. She was happy, so why let the judgments ruin her mood?
The pink-haired girl explained to her father how the ball went and what she had done. Even if she knew her dad, Loid had been the one pulling the strings, literally.
Yor who was holding hands with Anya couldn't help but feel happy for her.
They chitchatted, as they walked home together, like a family.
...
Once the Forgers were home, they all went to do their usual activities;
Yor was making some tea and was preparing a bowl of peanuts, just for her beloved daughter.
Loid was sitting, reading the journal. There was probably a hidden code or else he had the journal open just to overthink the mission he had:
Even if Damian and Anya had danced, even if they were getting closer to friendship, it was always still far away. One wrong move and they'd start even worse than before. Spy Twilight wished the task was as simple as it seemed.
...
Well, not every Forger was doing their usual activities.
Anya sat on her bed caressing Bond. Scrutinizing the floor as if it was intriguing.
She wouldn't admit but she was a bit nervous, worried...And tired but it was understandable she had danced and competed with other girls for almost all the ball but...
That was not it. What worried her wasn't her upcoming biology exam or anything it was...
It was the fact she told Damian about her ability.
She never had done this to anyone.
Why did she tell him though? He was constantly a nuisance to her and would always annoy her with his ways of calling her. They weren't even friends like she and Becky were.
But of course, she told Damian. The boy for the first time they had met genuinely meant what he'd told her;
"You seem to have a nice family"
The only time the young Desmond's thoughts weren't stirred up. Usually, it would make Anya feel dizzy by just reading his thoughts. As if a whole population was in front of her.
But that moment was pure of honesty and nice words. Well, he had dismissed it but she knew he would say more nice words if he had the courage.
She stopped caressing Bond as her thoughts stopped.
Hey, maybe the sy-on boy she'd always bash and wish to punch wasn't all that bad. But it was still too early for Anya to admit such a thought. She shrugged it off as she lay on her bed, her pink buns undone, and wearing her pajamas. Bond simply rested beside the green-eyed little girl.
Anya sill trailed in thought, reminiscing this time about her psychic abilities and what it had brought to her.
Sometimes it was a blessing but sometimes it wasn't. She wondered if the black-haired boy had believed what she told him.
The young Forger closed her eyes as she trailed on thought.
It had been a while since she had pondered about everything. Biology would be for later.
...
Yor stared at the door where 'Ania' was written in familiar handwriting.
She sighed as she spoke, still not leaving an eye from the door;
"Loid, she hasn't left her room in a while now...Is she okay...Is everything okay? I could knock at the door and-"
The blonde man put the journal on the table and looked at Yor;
"Don't worry. She must be tired. Maybe let her rest a while."
Yor still seemed worried and responded:
"Yes but...She never misses her Spy Wars episodes...Even if she's tired."
Loid was a bit worried as well but maybe she was really just tired.
Yor decided to not knock on the door and sat down, pouring tea for both of them. Yor would always feel the heat rise in her cheeks as she thought they looked like a married couple. Well, they were one but not exactly.
The blonde man and the raven-haired woman both talked of their day as they laughed a bit. Still hiding some small details from each other like spy missions or killing someone, again.
