"Well, thanks for the heads up." I say.
I reach for my knife. She slams her talon into my hand. I wince.
"Not so fast. I want to keep talking." She hisses.
"Well, can you kindly get off of me?" I ask.
"Hmmm... no." She smiles.
"Damnit." I say.
"Let him go." Proteus says.
"Ugh. You guys are no fun." She mutters.
I slowly inch forward. Ignoring the pain, I keep inching forward. I grip my other hand. I need to keep her talking. I look at Proteus. I gesture to him. He nods. He walks forward. She turns her head.
"How are you sure we're going to die?" Proteus asks.
"Is it not ovbious? You're going to the realm of the mother of all monsters." She says.
"We might surprise you." Proteus says.
"You're just a whiney prince." She screeches.
"You're just a loud bird." Marina points out.
"Oh, you are the last person to judge a harpy." She screeches.
"I think you the last creature to judge us." I grab the knife and I jab it in her.
She screeches in pain and shoots into the sky. I jump up. She looks down and screeches. It almost causes my ears to bleed. She swoops down with several others. I jam my sword into one. One tangles with Proteus. One attacks Marina.
"Marina!" I yell.
She turns. I throw her my knife. She takes it and slams it into the harpy. She roars in pain and shoots back into the sky. We need to get out of here. I can sense there's an incoming breeze.
"Rex. Tie the front sail to star borne!" I yell.
"Aye aye captain." Rex nods.
"Everyone hold on!" I yell.
