The Golden Jubilee of Elizabeth II was a worldwide event conducted in 2002 to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II's 50th anniversary of her succession to the thrones of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth nations on February 6, 1952. The Queen wanted it to be a celebration of her 50 years as queen as well as a chance for her to publicly and personally thank her subjects for their support.

The jubilee was commemorated with large-scale and popular events across London in June of that year, bookended by events across the Commonwealth realms. Elizabeth and her husband, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, attended all of the official ceremonies on time; the royal pair traveled more than 40,000 miles (64,000 km) over a year, visiting the Caribbean, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Canada. Several monuments, parks, buildings, and other structures were named in honor of the Golden Jubilee, as well as commemorative medals, stamps, and other emblems.

The Golden Jubilee festivities included six main themes: 'Celebration,' 'Giving Thanks,' 'Service,' 'Involving the Whole Community,' 'Looking Forward as Well as Back,' and 'Commonwealth.'
