Mass panic (I)

This story takes place a day before Monarch Academy begins, and artemis still hasn't gotten his acceptance letter.

(Artemis's Pov)

I was in the middle of designing something before I heard commotion downstairs. Confused about what was happening, I went downstairs to see a man injured on the floor. He was bleeding out, and he had scars all over him that were vary deep. I rushed over to the man to see if I could help, but there was something spilling out from the man it wasn't blood, though it was oddly colored.

"Sir, are you okay?!" I said, concerned and confused. "What happened to you?"

He looked up at me, his eyes nearly bulging out his face as he bled from the mouth as he screeched, "Heelllpp Me-" he was cut off by Ms. Rose "Artemis get away from him!" She screamed desperately.

I never heard Ms. Rose ever scream before, So I immediately did. and thankfully, I did because if I didn't move, the man would have been able to lunge at me and grab me. Thankfully, his attempt failed because of Ms. Rose.

That was probably the last I saw of the man as Ms. Rose pulled out a gun and shot him in the head, killing him. I covered my mouth in disgust at what I had just witnessed.

I felt like vomiting, but before I could say anything, I heard screams from outside the orphanage Blood-curdling ones at that. Ms. Rose looked at the door ready with her gun in hand for something.

And that's when people started rushing in,but they didn't look normal. No, not in the slightest they looked just like the man bulging eyes cuts and bruises all over and blood and some other type of liquid coming out of their cuts but their bodies look deformed like the bones were broken or in the middle of breaking. It was horrifying.

But as the people rushed in Ms. Rose took her gun and started shooting at them. Killing each one, they dropped like flies, but eventually, she ran out of Ammo and ran over to me and took my rist, and ran. The children were in the other room, and they looked confused and scared at what was happening. Ms. Rose told them to follow her as we were following her, we were led to something that looked like a bunker, but it looked like it could only fit 4-5 of us. It was much too small, and there's not that much food in there. It looked like it could sustain a group of 3 or 4 for at least a week

I was still confused. Not knowing what was happening anymore. 'WHY DID MS. ROSE SHOT THEM WHY DID THEY LOOK DEFORMED AND WHY WAS THEIR A BUNCER!?' I thought to myself

But I was pulled back to reality when Ms. Rose told me to go inside the bunker with the kids and closed it when we were in. "But what about you? we can't just leave you alone, and what is happening?! " I said in a worried voice

"I can't explain what's happening,but you will need to take care of the kids!The bunker won't be able to fit all of us so I will look for some heroe's so they can help us while you 5 stay here" Ms. Rose said

"But it looked dangerous out there!" I said. I could still hear the screams from outside the orphanage as if I was outside. Before I could say anything else, someone peered the corner and looked at us. Before they could get closer to us, I pushed Ms. Rose in the Bunker with the kid's closing the door behind them. The person lunged at me, pinning me to the ground, trying to rip my face off.

I activated my quirk and punched them as hard as I could in the face. Their head went through the wall with a splat blood, and another liquid coming from the wall their head went through.
"I'm gonna be Fucking sick." I said getting off the ground and on my feet and Smelling the decaying body that wasn't very far away.

"I didn't think I hit him that hard." I said looking at the body that was motionless. I heard more footsteps coming closer, so I booked it out of there. 'I'll look for some heroes so they can get them out safely.' I thought to myself. But I still didn't know what was happening. Why were they attacking us? Why did they all look injured and decaying? What was happening!?

Luckily or unluckily, I should say I was gonna get my answer pretty quickly. As I ran outside of the orphanage, I saw people getting attacked on the street blood everywhere, cars crashing, people, people running for their lives.

But I could hear something amongst all the commotion. I looked up and saw a TV screen that had the news on it. It said to stock up on resources and stay inside and away from other people and that the infection will die down soon.

"...Infection...?"

Hey, Unavailable speaking. I hope you like this. It took me a while to make. This was my very first time writing, so that's why it's short and if there's any mistakes, please point them out to me, and if there's any ideas you have for this AU, tell me.

Ps: I know someone is currently making an infected AU, but please know, I'm not trying to steal from them. I've been loving this fandom for a long while now, and I don't plan on trying to steal or take anyone's ideas. I'm just going to be spit balling some ideas and putting them here. I would love some constructive criticism, I know there are multiple people who write about this fandom, and I really enjoy reading their work. I just wanted to see if I could try the same thing. Writing about one of my favorite fandoms.❤️ Thank you for reading.❤️
