ᴡʜᴀᴛ'ꜱ ɢᴏɪɴɢ ᴏɴ?

That day was an absolute catastrophe. Not only was the play spoiled, but everything became revealed. Joshua raced away from the cinema after hearing his friends' harsh remarks. He wanted to go home. On the way, he mentally prepared for the worst. Now that his friends understood the truth, just his parents remained.

He entered his house, taking a big breath. His face was marred with painful tears.

"Shua" said a female voice. Joshua simply hummed.

Mrs. Hong remarked, "Jihoon called me earlier and sounded very frustrated." "All I could make out was Seokmin and friend"

"What's going on?" she said seriously.

"I don't want to talk about it," her son said. His voice was really faint.

"Joshua, I want to know the truth," she instructed.

Joshua shook his head and moved towards the stairs. But his mother gripped his hand hard and stared into his eyes.

"Are you back to being friends with him?"

"He is not my friend," Joshua said.

"I am your mother Hong Jisoo, don't lie"

"Mom, just leave me alone," he said quietly. He was not in a position to dispute with her.

"JOSHUA!" said Hong Jiah.

"We are boyfriends," the boy said fiercely.

"How did it happen?" Jiah inquired, taken aback by the abrupt revelation. 

"Why?" Joshua scoffed. "Everybody wants to know the truth. Now that you all know, why can't you take it?"

"You are aware that our house and that house-" she was stopped by a child.

"I know they're nasty. They did that, they did that, Blah Blah Blah." Joshua had no idea where he got his bravery, but he needed his mother to know how he truly felt.

"Why did you do that then? Have you forgotten to defend my reputation?" she said strongly.

" Mom." Joshua sounded quite serious. "It is not my responsibility to do so. You knew each other in high school, and Lord knows whatever your relationship was. "

This words rocked Jiah to her core. "What did you say?"

"I'm saying that I can't be held responsible for your irrational feelings"

"Don't talk about it, Shua," she told him.

"So you're allowed to do whatever you want and not me?" said Joshua. "At least I speak the truth unlike you"

"JUST GO TO YOUR ROOM!" Jiah screamed. This gave her son chills. She was noted for her calm demeanour, which Joshua inherited. But this aspect of her was unexpected.

Joshua looked at the floor and headed upstairs. It took a few seconds for the woman to come to her wits. She couldn't believe what happened in just a few minutes.

It was time to confront the guy who had caused so much sorrow for her and her family.

THE LEE'S HOUSE : 

The situation was just as awful as at the Hongs'. Perhaps even worse. Who told Seokmin's parents? Soonyoung is the one.

While the father and son were having a furious argument, they were both unexpectedly halted by an irate voice shouting Mr. Lee's name.

"SEOJIN!" "SEOJIN!"

They were all shocked to see an unexpected visitor.

"What did you say to Joshua?" Jiah said, glancing intently at Seojin.

"Why are you here?" asked the guy.

"Why can't I be here when you brainwashed my son?"

"I never brainwashed Joshua," Seojin said, taken aback by the charge. 

"If you want to say anything, how about you say all the evil things you did?" warned Joshua's mother. There was more to the story than they had told their children.

Seokmin inquired, "What did my dad do?" Seojin gasped; he felt uncomfortable by this.

"So, you didn't tell him about it, did you?" Jiah questioned, with an evil smirk.

"Tell me about what?" Seokmin was unaware of his surroundings. 'What did my father hide about? ' the boy wondered.

"Well, the man you call my father took my scholarship. Because of that, I was denied admission to university."

"I let you take my business and my employees as compensation" said Seojin. 

"That was nothing compared to what you did to me. You know what hurts me the most? " Jiah started feeling nostalgic. Regardless of how hard she tried, she could not forget those times. "I was betrayed by my own best friend"

" But I-" Seojin was interrupted by her.

"After all this, you took over your father's business. What was the point of stealing it from me?"

She turned to his kid and said, "Just stop hating your neighbors because the most disgusting person in the world is your own father."

Jiah left the house after her remarks jolted the entire family.

Seojin retreated to his room, leaving Seokmin and his mother alone. "Your grandpa put a lot of pressure on your dad that's why-" 

Seokmin was not prepared to accept any of his mother's justifications.

" Does that give him the right to do this? Does he realize how much that hurt me and Shua?"

" But-"

"Ma, dad has already lost my respect"

"Still he-"

"I had to conceal my entire relationship as the outcome of his mistake. I'll never forgive him for it."  

Those were the last words he said before leaving the house.
