Give me a second... I need to get my story straight.

24th July 2016

'So Rob you're telling me that you've actually met a guy who can play guitar for you. Unbelievable! I never thought that would happen in a million years.' I chuckled, sat on Robert Keating's, my best friend's ,twin bed.

The orange walls, although unusual, gave me a sense of security, it was homely, calming. I had basically spent most of my childhood in this house, being Rob's neighbour and my ma working nights it meant that we were able to have endless sleepovers, without having to bat an eye at our parents or put on a performance to convince them.

'Urm yes Maeve. Eli met him at a house party last week, nice guy he is, I met him yesterday, the name's Josh and he is sick!' Rob blurted out in an offended yet jokey matter.
'Well I was just sayinggg and please never let the word "sick" come out of your mouth in that context ever again please.' I say, trying to get on his nerves, 'You lads aren't really the approachable type, especially with your face!' I laugh at my own words as Robert tackles me to the bed, grabbing a pillow from beside him and proceeding to smack me with it. This was a regular thing for us: start a conversation, joke about it, play-fight.

As our burst of energy had calmed down, Rob and I decided it was a good time to go and meet the lads as we had figured we were all free and Rob's parents were fast asleep, also meaning that I could have an excuse to meet Josh, their newly found band member of 'Inhaler'. Grabbing our jackets, mine a dark red oversized leather jacket and Rob's being a black one, we grabbed essentials (which to us was snacks and drinks) and left the front door making sure to be silent, not wanting to wake anyone in the house.

After all, we are young, why not have fun.
