Being tied to a post and having her lip beat open was not how Serina Sparrow had wished to start her Thursday.
The 17 year old girl spit out some blood from her mouth, onto the floor in front of the man with a gun in his hands.

"I asked you a question!" The man in blue yelled at her.

No, this wasn't her first time being kidnapped by the British Royal Marines in the service of the East India Trading Company.

"And I told you. I. Don't. Know. I. Wasn't. There." She replied in a sloppy British accent. Her chest hurt when she tried to speak.

They had been questioning her about a recent pirate trade. The troops had placed some men in the ships as agents of sorts. Making sure to get names and trading routs so the soldiers could arrest and hang more pirates. Though she knew this at the time.

"Lying does you no good, girl. We had men tell us you were there. You stood right next to the captains when they discussed over a map! Tell us what you know and you may live!" The man in a wig yelled louder.

Serina began to laugh. "I don't know how you expect me to treat you seriously mate. Not with that seagull on your head." She gasped as she was laughing. That was the soldiers last straw. He went to take the end of his gun and hit her across the face, knocking her out, but there was a loud 'BOOM' from outside and a guard yell "we're under attack!!"

Serina kicked the man in his... you know. He let out a squeal and bent over to hold his manhood, falling to his knees. She quickly took his knife and cut the ropes binding her hands.
"Always protect below your belt mate!" She called out, running out of the dark prison, closing and locking the door behind her.

Many men called out for her help. Begging her to unlock their doors.
"What are you in for?" She asked, hurriedly. "Murder." An older man replied. She left him there. Some crimes she wouldn't tolerate.
"You?"

She went on with this for a few more seconds. Only four men were worthy of her judgment. They followed her up to the armory and grabbed whatever they could carry.
"My men will get anything valuable, we are running straight to the ship and killing any blue coats that get in our way. Do you understand?" She asked.
"I ain't taking orders from no girl!" One of them said.

Serina sighed and lifted up her sleeve, showing them a scar of a "P"
"How about orders from a pirate?"
"You're still a girl." Another replied.
"Either you follow me or the last thing you're going to experience is a powdered wig and a rope around your neck. Savvy?"

The men from the prison nodded eagerly.
"Good. Come on!" She demanded. They ran out, staying close to the prisons walls as gunshots flew by them.
"Head for the ship!" She said, pushing them in front of her. The four men ran past and shot as they charged towards the ship.

The girl had noticed a small group of men being surrounded by powdereds. She ran behind the wall where they were pushed up against, weapons on the ground.
"Surrender or we kill you all." A blue coat smirked.
"Let me be hung before I get shot by a Britt!" A Scottish sailor spat.

There was a small explosion near Serina making her step out from her hiding place for a second as she began praying that no one saw her.
"You come out!" One demanded. She let out an aggravated sigh.

The pirate girl slowly backed out from her hiding spot. Two men walked over to her and grabbed her arms. Forcing her to the ground.
"Here i was thinking that pirates believed in superstitions. I thought it was bad luck to have a woman on a ship." The commander smirked wickedly at her.

"Aye, it is... for you." She smiled back. Serina quickly pulled out her Flintlock pistol and shot the two men who had pushed her to the ground. Quickly the other pirates obtained their weapons from the ground and pointed them at the soldiers.

"Drop your weapons and empty your pockets." She grinned, pointing her gun at the commander. "Like my gun?" Looking around and noticing that all of his soldiers had been overcome by the pirates His eyes burned with anger. "Take anything they give you and all keys!" Hugo demanded.
"Are you hurt to bad?" He asked the girl.
"I'm alright, thank you." She gave him a curt nod. "Just take care of it all, we've got new crew I need to check on."

Serina called out for the four prisoners she had let loose.
"Search them, leave nothing behind." She instructed. They all obeyed.
"We'll never make it out of this fort alive." One of them mumbled.
"Keep up the tone with me, and I'll make sure you don't." She sneered.

The crew had no knowledge of the small platoon that was hidden, waiting to strike, until there was shouting and they rushed out, pointing weapons at the pirates.
"We're done with the games now! Surrender or die!" The commander demanded.

"Got a plan?" She whispered to Hugo. "Not one." He replied.
"Well then. I'm getting restless with this." She sighed.
"Aye." Hugo said. Serina closed her eyes the opened them, almost falling to the ground from dizziness. "Run!" She shouted.

As the crew all began running the troops shot. Though they had good precision the bullets didn't kill anyone. The pirates climbed onto the ship and began to work quickly, trying to get away from the fort before they began to damage the rig.

Hugo helped the staggering girl get onto the ship, with the help of Tig, the cook.
"Sit me at the helm. And give me my hat." She insisted. They did just that.

"So long friends!" She yelled out to the soldiers. "This is the day you will always remember as the day you almost caught Captain Serina Williams!" She smiled and waved to them as the ship quickly got away.
