"Where is he?"
Jolted from her reverie by his voice, Thulir turned to identify the intruder. With a sigh, she redirected her gaze towards the sea, staring blankly at the undulating waves.
"Why are you here Agathiya?"
She asked without glancing his way. He scanned the surroundings for Aadhavan, but he was nowhere in sight. With a sigh, he positioned himself before her, obstructing her view of the sea as she stared out blankly.
"Where is Aadhavan? and I want a direct simple answer Thulir "
She was on the verge of retorting but chose not to.
"He left "
She spoke plainly, being careful not to get involved in any heated arguments with him at the moment, as she might blurt out words that didn't reflect her true intentions, given the overwhelming emotions she was experiencing.
But that was what made it suspicious to him. folding his hands in front he asked her nope started enquiring her
"he left means what....you followed him and you met him then where is he now ?"
"I said Right he left....what else you want me to say"
Thulir said in distrust
"He left" means what and how can you let him go alone... We both understood that in such situations, it was not wise to leave him by himself. Although he may not verbalise his inner struggles, his need for companionship is evident; typically, it would be either one of us or both providing that presence.."
He spoke, and the frustration in his voice was evident, he was deeply concerned about his brother. Thulir lost control already
"He is not a child, Agathiya, who needs someone to take care of him. He wanted to leave, and he left. That's it. What do you expect me to do, force him to stay? Sorry, I won't do that. He might have gone back home, you can find him there. Now, please leave me alone. "
She shouted at him, he wanted to retort but restrained himself, knowing that barking at each other would not lead to a solution.
"Okay, sorry... My concern for him may have come across as rude... Let's go home.....Vaa "

He spoke in a calm voice, took her hands, and started walking towards the car parked on the other side of the road.....She surely didn't anticipate an apology from him as she prepared herself for a heated argument.......But this was what she wanted all along. Whenever she starts an argument, he has to handle it calmly, but when that happens, she's not in the mood to appreciate it.....Currently, there is chaos in her mind and heart, she is confused, and her emotions are in turmoil. Initiating another argument with him will not bring her any peace.
Thus, Thulir resolved to keep her lips sealed until she reached home. It had been enough drama for one day, and all she desired at that moment was to wake up tomorrow to someone telling her it was all just a dream. But deep down, she knew it was real and irreversible.
Again his voice broke her chain of thoughts
"It's no parking area madam, your Scooty is at risk right now.....You drive the car I will follow you in your Scooty.."
Thulir nodded, took the car key from him, and moved to the other side. Agathiyan sensed that something was troubling her, but he didn't know how to learn more about it. He was certain that if he asked, she wouldn't tell him.
She drove towards her home with him following closely behind. He persistently tried calling Aadhavan's number, but there was no answer, and eventually, the phone was switched off.
Agathiyan's concern for his brother intensified, he knew he would only find peace upon seeing him in person. After leaving Thulir at home, he planned to hurry back to his own house to find him, as this was the sole thought consuming his mind.
First, he has to make sure Aadhavan is alright then he will think about the rift between him and Thulir...
Agathiyan's concern for Aadhavan over Thulir has its reasons. Aadhavan is an assertive individual with strong willpower, capable of concealing his emotions, yet he remains the most sensible among them. He is also known for his stubbornness, especially when it comes to letting go of something.....
His departure from home, coupled with leaving Thulir alone at the beach, weighed heavily on him, and he hoped that his assumptions were incorrect.
But things had already slipped beyond their control, no one could reel it back in and restore it to its previous state.
Agathiyan went ahead to rouse the watchman to open the gate, and they went inside. He parked her Scooty in the shed. Thulir alighted from the car and approached him to hand over the keys.
when she turned back to leave Agathiyan called her...
"Thulir "
She stopped suddenly but didn't turn around to look at him. He sighed...
"I understand you're upset with me, and I'm bound to answer many of your unasked questions. there was something I need to say......
I received my first posting order, and it's West Gothavari, I need to report there next week. and I am leaving in 2 days "
Thulir was silent and didn't react to it...He let out a long breath...
"Before I leave, won't you say anything? I want to clear all misunderstandings between us. I'm aware that you've applied for a master's in Thanjavur and will likely pursue your PhD there. Once you complete your studies, I plan to apply for a transfer and return to Chennai. I understand that neither of us is ready for the next step in our lives, we are both focused on our careers. And I know that you have feelings for me as well...I.... "
Thulir started walking away not wanting to stay and hear him knowing what he was about to say. She was surely not in the right state...... She stopped listening to his words... that was the final straw.
"Thulir, please listen to me. I'm not asking for anything more... I don't expect you to ask me to stay and all... just hear me out.....I..."
Thulir turned back, stepped closer to him, looked straight into his eyes,
"Asking you to stay......To demand such a thing, I would require certain rights over that person, Agathiya, rights which I do not hold over either you or him. You two don't seek my opinion ever, you merely inform me, likely because you've already made your decisions. You act on your own, keep matters to yourselves, and then accuse me of being blind to your actions.
AND I AM DONE WITH IT"
She spoke sternly and departed without awaiting his response.
"There is no one in this world who has more right over me than you do, Thulir....you know why.....
because.
I LOVE YOU...
I love you more than anything in the world and all I need is you just you.."
Thulir did heard his confession but choose not to acknowledge it and rushed inside
