Chapter Twelve

After an hour of window shopping Jake and Brennen took me home. "Thank you guys I had a really great time." I smiled looking down. "Hey, no problem." Brennen said with a wink. I wanted to scream so loud like I actually witnessed a Brennen wink in real life oh my god. Eve find your chill calm down. "I'm home!" I yelled going up stairs "hey baby I'm up here in my room! You need to start getting ready!" I walked into my mom's huge master bedroom, "Alright so who did you meet?" "Her name is Lisa." My eyes widen. "Uh Lisa what?" "I'm not sure but she said to bring you because she has 2 sons and 1 daughter! So maybe you guys will be friends!" She walked out of the bathroom in her pink robe and her hair wrapped in a towel. Is she talking about Lisa Taylor Brennen Taylor's mom? Oh my god. "Well I'm going to get ready!" I ran to my room grabbing my phone. It totally slipped my mind to ask for Brennen's number so I dm'd him

E: Err so we're meeting for dinner huh?

B: Yeah I guess so haha so wear something nice (;

E: No chill haha alright then I'll see you later

I can't believe what's going on right now like out of all of the people in the store, she ran into Brennen's mom isn't that a trip? This is like amazing. Okay I need to focus since I'm having dinner with the Taylor family holy shit. Okay what am I going to wear? Well I shouldn't wear my heels god knows I would have trouble walking god that would be embarrassing falling in front of the Taylor family.

Matt interrupted my story, "are those the heels you're talking about?" He laughed. "Yeah I never really wear..." I said looking down as my words faded. "Why did you choose to wear them tonight?" he kept his eyes on road "well I don't know I felt like they were necessary." I laughed. I continued the story

I pulled out my turquoise crop top that had a white picture of a mermaid, my white high waisted shorts , and my white high top converse. I curled my hair and put light makeup on, a simple winged eyeliner and a few coats of mascara. I grabbed my small black handbag and walked out of my room downstairs meeting my mom at the door. "You look flawless!" My mom said, I gave my mom a smile with a compliment back. We walked out towards the car when we got into the car I put on some Shawn Mendes. "Eve do we have to listen to your music? It's so depressing!" my mom hates when I put on my music she thinks its so depressing I don't know why? "Mom you think Something Big is depressing? You're crazy!" Soon we got to the restaurant and we both walked out of the car and walked in to find the Taylor family sitting at the corner table in the back. We walked towards the table my mom greeted Lisa I said hi to Jake, Jessica, and Brennen. I took a seat between Jessica and Jake. "So Eva how are you liking this new California environment?" "I've actually been here before but usually for the basics, Disney Land or Universal so I guess having to adjust to it permanently is a little different but it's going pretty good!" As my mom and Lisa started to have their own conversation, Jake texting Trew, Brennen Looking through his phone, and me and Jessica having a small conversation getting to know each other. "Eva what made you decide to move here?" Jessica asked. I looked down and lowered my voice, "I had a few problems going on with my ex-boyfriend. It just wasn't working out. We had our own way of showing our affection towards each other, his was a little different." I said looking down. "Aw Eva if you want to talk about it later you can come over and talk about it or I could over." She said with a smile. "I think it would be better if I go over. My mom didn't know what was happening and I don't want her to know. I told her I caught him cheating." Jessica nodded yes and gave me her number. "Do you want to ride with me and my mom?" I nodded yes. "Mom is it cool if Eve sleeps over tonight?" Jessica asked, "Yeah mom can I go over?" I asked. Both Lisa and my mom looked at each other and took a while and said yes. "Thank you!" We both said in sync. "I'll ride with you guys if that's okay?" "Of course I have some clothes you could wear!" I smiled and we continued to talk as we waited for our food to come. I ordered a simple meal of a chicken ceaser salad. We soon finished our food. I said good bye to my mom and I left with Jess and Lisa while Brennen and Jake left in his white truck."I'll meet you there mom!" Brennen yelled from across the street.

"Wait so you told Jessica what I did to you?" He asked sounded angry. I don't put up with his bullshit anymore I've changed so I don't care what happens right now, "well yeah that's the whole reason I went over to her house." "And did you do anything with Brennen?" He said looking at me, "well you would know if you let me finish so just chill."

When we got to Jessica's house she showed me where everywhere was and we went into her room and we talked and talked about what happened. "Wow Eva you're pretty tough for dealing with that kind of stuff. Are you okay now?" She asked. "Yeah I mean it wasn't too long ago when it happened I still have small bruises on my wrist but I cover it up with some makeup." I smiled. "Is it okay if I change into something comfortable?" "Of course!" She gave me some shorts and a t-shirt. When I opened the door I was face-to-face with Brennen, "Brennen were you there the whole time?!" Jess yelled. Brennen smiled, "No! I swear!" He ran back into his room. I turned back around to face Jessica and laughed a little. I walked into the bathroom to change and saw Brennen standing against the wall by the bathroom door. "May I help you?" I asked. "I'm sorry for what happened back home." I smiled, "it's okay." Just as I opened the door he stopped me and hugged me, "just know nobody will ever touch you like that anymore now that I'm around." He smiled. I didn't know what to say so I smiled and continued to walk to the bathroom to change. What just happened? What the hell just happened? I finished getting changed and walked back to Jessica's room. "Do you want to watch a movie?" She asked. "Sure!" I said walking towards the bed. I got on and laid back. We talked through the movie not paying attention to what was going on. We talked and talked and we got to know each other so much better! We both exchanged numbers so we could keep in touch.

"We're here." Matt said with a blunt tone. I could tell he was angry. "Are you okay?" I asked. I stayed in the car to hear his answer, "yeah why wouldn't I be?" I turned to face him, "Matt look at me." When he turned around to face me I saw a few tears rolling down his cheek, "what's wrong?" He wiped tears off his cheek, "I wish I could take back what I did in the past. I'm really sorry. Eve I miss you so much." I grabbed his hand and stared into his eyes, "Matt I know you probably didn't mean to do all of that stuff but nothing you say or do could change the fact that you not only hurt me emotionally but also physically. I could never trust you. I miss you too but I don't know if something could happen between us." I he nodded understanding how I felt. I kissed him on the cheek and said good bye he didn't move his head until after I got out of the car. He continued to slightly cry while starting the car and drove off.
