Yanna awoke from her sleep, her gaze shifting to the phone resting on the table beside her. It was already 8:20. As she sat up in bed, memories of the previous night flooded her mind, still fresh and raw. The sting of the events lingered, casting a shadow over her morning.

Lost in thought, Yanna was startled by the sound of someone entering the room. "Hey Yan, good morning," Maloi greeted warmly as she approached the bed, carrying a tray of food. Yanna managed a small smile as Maloi set the tray down. Retrieving her own breakfast from the counter, Maloi joined Yanna on the bed, and together they ate in companionable silence. Comfort enveloped them like a warm blanket, offering solace in the midst of turmoil.

Maloi couldn't help but steal glances at Yanna, her heart aching for her friend who bore the marks of tears shed the night before.

Once they had finished eating, Maloi took charge of cleaning up, collecting the dishes and washing them while Yanna followed suit, joining her in the kitchen.

Feeling Yanna's presence, Maloi turned to her friend. Yanna, mindful of her lack of a shower the previous night, hesitantly broached the subject. "Hey Mal," she began, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment, "do you mind if I use your shower? I couldn't take a bath last night."

Maloi's response was immediate and reassuring. "Sige lang, of course it's okay! Parang sayo nadin naman tong condo. Some of your clothes are still in the upper right drawer sa room ko. There's also a new towel there na pwede mong gamitin."

Grateful for Maloi's understanding, Yanna offered a smile before excusing herself to the bathroom.

After a refreshing shower, she found Maloi waiting for her in the living room. "Hey Maloi," Yanna greeted as she approached, taking a seat beside her friend.

"Yeah?" Maloi responded, turning her attention to Yanna.

Yanna hesitated for a moment before voicing her request. "Do you mind if I stay here for a few days?" she asked tentatively, uncertainty clouding her features.

Maloi's smile was warm and reassuring. "I don't mind at all, pero wala ka bang planong kausapin si Myles?" she inquired, concern evident in her voice.

"Meron naman..siguro pag nakita ko siya," Yanna replied, frustration creeping into her tone. "Hindi pa nga siya nagrereply sa messages ko e."

Understanding Yanna's predicament, Maloi nodded sympathetically. "May mga kukunin ka bang gamit sa condo mo?" she asked, practicality overriding her concern.

Yanna nodded in agreement. "Tara? Punta tayo ngayon, samahan kita." Maloi offered, rising from the sofa and grabbing her bag.  After grabbing her phone Yanna followed Maloi through the door.

As they walked side by side, Yanna couldn't help but feel grateful for Maloi's unwavering support. In the midst of uncertainty, her friend's presence offered a sense of stability and reassurance. And though the road ahead was fraught with challenges, Yanna found solace in knowing that she didn't have to face it alone.
