I trudge up the stairs tagging along behind my father. My back hurt as he just belted me. "Come on you worthless child!" He yells. I walk into the huge room that the ceremony was to be held in. I walk over to the Abnegation section when someone grabs my hair. "Stay in Abnegation or I will find you." my dad threatens. "Eaton, Ashlyn" I walk up to the stage, hands shaking and fighting the urge to hyperventilate out of pressure. I pick up the knife and cut the palm of my hand. And hold it over Abnegation. Yet it didn't feel right, I moved my had as soon as a droplet of blood was about to drop. Over the dauntless bowl. I listen to the sizzle of my blood in the burning coals, along with the cheer of Dauntless.

We run down the steps, I feel so free, wild and surprisingly happy. I keep into the centre of the group of Dauntless. We run out and all start climbing up to the train.
I leap in with all my might. A hand comes out to help me get on. "Hi, I'm Artemis" says a girl with dark brown hair and kind, loving brown eyes. "Hi, I'm Ashlyn " I say as we start to reach some buildings. Wait. No. They can't be. " They are jumping!" I say happily. As I reach nearer and nearer I jump. Landing on two feet as I trip over something, or rather someone. I walk up to the crowd. "I'm, Eric. Im one of your Dauntless leaders, in order to make it into Dauntless you need to jump down the hole. Who will be first to jump?" I walk up to the edge of the whole and take off my cargigan to reveal a tight dark grey t-shirt. I take a breath and jump.
