slight mention of rape

Cara 708. They had been on that ship for almost a week now. The vacation had been a gift from Lizzy's aunt after JJ and her had helped the older woman out in her hotel for more than a month. Until now they'd had a great time.

None of that did matter anymore. Not to her anyways. Lizzy was sitting on the ground, locked into a toilet, her gaze as empty as her mind. She didn't feel anything anymore and it was his fault.

How dare he coming back into her life after all those years, after everything that had happened? After everything he had done? Just a few minutes before she'd felt like she was trapped inside the body of that seven-year-old girl she'd once been again. That girl of whom she'd assumed had died ten years ago.

But did that even matter anymore? Did anything at all matter? The answer was simple for once. It didn't.

Her mind was racing, her breath going heavy and her heart ready to win a formula one race. For the first time in forever she didn't know what to do.

Lizzy knew she would have needed JJ by her side, he was usually the only one to calm her down. She couldn't go to him this time. It was too big of a deal.

JJ had had a hard time back at home as well. He deserved that vacation, deserved to be in a good mood. She couldn't bother him with her problem.

"Liz are you in there", the blonde asked just as she'd finished that thought.

"I am", she whispered, knowing damn well that she couldn't lie to JJ.

It was just something she would never manage to do. The door wasn't locked. Sooner or later JJ would figure it out as well. She had to get herself together as fast as she could. But it was already too late.

The door swung open, and JJ looked at her sitting on the ground, a concerned look on his face. He didn't hesitate. Within seconds he was sitting next to her, pulling her into his arms. He didn't ask, didn't say a single word. His hand was running through her hair, trying to comfort her.

"He's here", Lizzy whispered, her voice cracking.

JJ didn't need any more information. She had said only two words, but they had been enough to let JJ know exactly what had happened. He wouldn't ask her to tell him more, simply because he knew she wouldn't be able to.

He pulled Lizzy even closer towards him, his left hand drawing little circles on her back, trying to make her feel any better. She tried hard to focus on his heartbeat and with ever second that passed her breath became calmer.

Half an hour later Lizzy was sitting in the office of the cruise ship's doctor. JJ had insisted on going there, simply because he feared for her safety. She sat cross-legged on the medical examination table, her gaze empty.

Lizzy had tried to tell Dr. Sander, who seemed like a nice, lovely guy, what had happened, but she could not. She could not speak those words. Maybe she was too afraid to do so.

Whatever it was it prevented her from saying a single word. She hated feeling that way and at the same time did not care at all. She sat there feeling numb, her mind being empty. She couldnot even focus on figuring out how to explain her situation.

In the end it turned out it was not necessary to say anything. Dr. Sander must have seen in her eyes what had happened though she could not remember making eye contact at all. Maybe it was just his experience.

"Hey Liz" JJ's voice eventually appeared next to her, his hand resting on her shoulder comforting her. Lizzy looked at him, still unable to say anything.

"Are you okay with answering some questions? They'd need some answers only if it's okay with you though. We can also do it later, or I can tell them if you want."

Lizzy shook her head, the first real reaction she had shown in quite a while. She knew sooner or later she would have to talk about it. And she would rather do it in this place with JJ by her side in a place where she felt at least a tiny bit comfortable. The faster she would get it over with the better, right?

"No, it's okay, I guess. What, what do you need to know" Lizzy asked, her voice shaking. She tried to focus on JJ's arm resting on her shoulder, trying to seek comfort from it.

"Can you try to tell me what happened" Dr Sander requested kindly, giving her a comforting smile.

"Umm, I... I was just on the toilet and... I guess he just appeared. I don't know where he came from. And then he ..." her voice cracked. She could not say it. The images were still burnt in the back of her mind.

"Did you know who he was?" The question of Dr. Sander hurt Lizzy more than it should have. She hated that he still seemed to have that effect on her.

"My father, or the man who was supposed to be that anyways" Lizzy's voice was bitter and full of hatred. It was quiet after that comment of hers.

No one really seemed to know what to say. JJ looked like he wanted to kill Lizzy's father and even Dr. Sander did not seem to be totally against that. Then after a while Dr. Sander finally asked: "Has this happened before? Like has he shown any kind of interest in that way before?"

"Once. I guess he'd always tried to be closer than a normal father should've been. Like he'd always been a bit touchy. There wasn't more though, not until that one point" Lizzy stopped and inhaled, needing a reassuring look from JJ so she'd be able to continue. "I was seven. I've just come home, excited to go to bed because JJ and I'd planned to go swimming the next day. Then he came into my room, I was almost asleep. I was confused because he usually never came into my room, so I didn't know what he wanted from me. I guess then it just happened."

"He raped you? At the age of seven? Wasn't there anyone at home who could've helped you?" Dr. Sander was shocked, but he tried not to show it too much.

"My mother was there. I'd cried, screamed for her to help me. She just stood there inside of my doorframe, watching the whole thing. I guess at least she had a great show" Lizzy tried joking about it. She could not handle serious situations too well. Not when they were affecting herself.

"Liz came to me in the middle of that night. She was totally done for. It was the last time she stepped foot inside that house. Since then she'd either slept at my house or her aunt's though that only started recently. She doesn't know about anything though. The police had never believed her. Her father had told them she was just imagining it and the jerks believed him over her. Can you believe it" JJ answered another question Lizzy had not even noticed was asked.

Dr Sander seemed to carefully think about what to say next. It was a delicate topic they were all aware of and still they had to deal with it now whether they wanted to or not.

"We'll take care of it. He will never touch you again I will make sure of that" he promised.

Lizzy did not know why but she believed him. Or maybe she just wanted to believe that things would finally be better. That this problem would finally be solved and that he'd never bother her again.
