Brooke Forbes had never been as miserable in her life as she was currently. Stefan had been taken away by Damon, which was a bonus, but there were still so many continuing issues to deal with. Rebekah was still ruining her everyday life at school, Klaus was still holding Elijah's freedom over her head, and now that she had discovered that Damon and Elena had kissed behind her back, she was so done with everything else.
To try and cope, Brooke had been sticking with Caroline and Bonnie, hoping that by avoiding the people involved in her problems they would go away
Mystic Falls was hosting its Illumination Night in town tonight, and so Caroline, Bonnie, and Brooke were all volunteering to help set up the town square.
"So when you did the spell to send Vicki away, did that get rid of Anna, too?" asked Caroline as she hung other lantern.
While everybody had been occupied by Klaus killing Tyler at the school, it turned out Matt had been having visions of his sister, and Bonnie had helped him break the link between her and this side. On top of that, Jeremy was still able to see the other side, which included Anna too.
"I wish." said Bonnie "All I did was block the magic that was helping Vicki get a physical foothold here. Jeremy's still got a direct line to the other side, and as long as he wants to see Anna and she wants to see him, she's still here"
The Forbes twins shared a glance "Ok, you don't think we can actually resist commenting on that"
She scowled "There. You commented"
Brooke sighed, "Bonnie..."
"What do you want me to say, guys?" cried Bonnie "I went against the balance of nature when I brought Jeremy back to life, and now I'm paying the consequences"
Caroline scoffed, "Well, I want you to say you're not ok with it"
"I'm a thousand times not ok with it. I just don't know what to do about it" said Bonnie
Before either twin could reply, there came the loud growl of an engine, and all three heads turned to see Damon approaching in his car, and glares overcame all of their faces.
Brooke suddenly decided she was very interested in the lantern she was threading.
"Greetings, blondies. Witchy. I think you got your voodoo wires all crossed when you got rid of Vicki Donovan" he said
Bonnie frowned "What do you mean, why?"
"Because I'm pretty sure I just got spit-roasted by Mason Lockwood's ghost" He said
Brooke finally looked at him, fear creeping into her veins. If Mason Lockwood had gone after Damon then there was a chance he would come after her too for her part in his death. She may have been furious with Damon right now, but that didn't change her worries.
"What?" she asked sharply
Caroline folded her arms "And why would you think that?"
"Maybe because he chained me to a chair and shoved a hot poker in my chest. Let's just say I'm having déjà vu" said Damon
