EXT. FOREST – MORNING
MONAH and MATTHEW are walking through the forest after the encounter with OSIRIS. The forest is calm, there's a light breeze of wind gazing over the trees, and the birds are chirping. MONAH is looking up to the trees while MATTHEW is looking straight at the path to ELLSWORLD, the neighboring town of Cheshire.
MONAH stars calmly whistling, and then looks over to MATTHEW. He looks determined, on his guard, just in case.
MONAH
So...Matthew. What was with that girl?
MATTHEW
(startled a bit) Huh? Oh, yeah, Osiris. Yeah, she was a part of... "my crew" back in the day.
MONAH
Your...crew?
MATTHEW
Yeah, a few years ago, me and a few friends decided to start a crew. Called ourselves "The Bandits of Cheshire."
MONAH
Huh, really? That sounds...familiar.
MATTHEW
Yeah...look, there were five of us, we tried to storm the Castle of Shade. Didn't work. Now my former crew is apparently working with those Night Shading-assholes. That's all you need to know.
MONAH
Ok...so where are we going?
MATTHEW
Into town. Gonna stock up on supplies and meet some of my... "other friends." See if maybe we can get a place to stay.
MONAH
Oh, ok.
They continue to walk in silence for a few more minutes. As they start to get closer to the town, they start hearing strange noises. Horses neighing and the odd faint smell of smoke.
How much longer?
MATTHEW
Just a few more minutes.
MONAH
Ok...hey, do you mind if I ask what exactly hap-
MATTHEW
No.
MONAH
Why not?
MATTHEW
NO.
MONAH
But maybe knowing about what happened might have us pre-
MATTHEW
