After finally agreeing and signing the nikkah papers, I'm the happiest man on the face of earth right now, and will surely continue to be, as long as she's by my side.
Her hand in mine felt so surreal and just made for each other. I felt my stomach twitching as I took her hands in mine.
She's ethereal. A sight to behold in that white and gold caftan. It was a task to get our clothes done in the span of one week, but alhamdulilah, being the owner of a clothing company did help.
I've been holding her hand, since her father put it in mine and I don't intend to let go. We're standing side by side, hand in hand and smiling at our families and friends who are partly congratulating and teasing us.
Her cousin Sadia is quite close to Aaliyah, I've noticed and hence she is trying to take her, away from me.
"Just 10 minutes, Jijs, please?!" She pleads again for the nth time. She is asking to take Aaliyah with her, away from me, to, according to her, talk about some important girl stuff.
I know what her 'important girl stuff' is and hence I'm not letting Aaliyah go and get teased, to the extent where she has to lie.
She's very shy and each time someone talked about us before, or how they saw potential in our relationship way before this nikkah, makes her blush intensely.
She has even tried hiding herself behind my arm when Ishaq blabbered about how he plays a major role in our relationship. I was about to ruin that annoyingly handsome face of his, for actually going to her house with the intention of marrying her, but I restrained myself, after he explained everything.
As if. What is destined to be, is destined to be. Even if he had forcefully draggen me to propose to her, it wouldn't have happened, if Allah wasn't willing.
But, Alhamdulilah, with Allah's will, we're now husband and wife.
We can't live together for the upcoming two months, as our house is taking longer than expected and Aaliyah suggested making some changes, but we surely can meet and I will make sure of us getting away.
If only for one weekend, but we will spend it together, away from the prying eyes.
I still don't know what this Jijs means so I'm going to ask her about that and if she truthfully responds, I will compromise and let Aaliyah go.
"First you tell me what this Jijs means. You've been calling me by this name since we met for the first time." I raised an eyebrow and Aaliyah stiffled a laugh.
This is surely some silly nickname isn't it?
"Uhhh.... If I tell you truthfully, you'll let me take Aaliyah?" She asked instead of answering my question.
I looked at Aaliyah, who nodded, so I let it slide and nodded, telling her to explain.
"It's a short and modern form for the term Jiju." She quickly said and grabbed Aaliyah's hand, dragging her away from me. What does this Jiju mean?
