Avery swings her feet as she sits on the edge of tall building.
"Why doesn't she like me, Dad?"
Jungkook inhales deeply as he opens his mouth. "I don't think it's that she doesn't like you."
"Then why is she this way? She was nicer to me before she knew as opposed to after."
"....I don't know, Avery. Really, I don't. I don't understand anything, either."
"She hates me." She says quietly.
"That's not true."
"Don't lie to me. She doesn't like me at all. I wish I could go back and never say anything. I wish I'd never even said anything to her. I should've just kept my mouth closed."
"But that wouldn't have stopped you from getting rid of the fragment."
"No... but it would hurt less knowing that she didn't know." She sniffles and leans on her father's shoulder.
He lets her cry quietly while he rubs her back.

Avery closes her eyes until she's drowsy.
Jungkook picks her up and carries her from the roof. He gets into the elevator and rides it down. He earns a few odd glances from people as he carries his daughter out of the building.
She's a woman, yes. But she'll always be his little girl.
Jungkook makes it home with her and lays her in her bed. He takes her shoes off and pulls the blankets up on her. He kisses her temple and turns the light out before leaving her room.
He walks into the bedroom that he shares with his wife.
"Gen?" Jungkook calls. "Can I talk to you for a minute?"
"Yeah. What about?"
"Avery."
"Where is she?"
"In her room sleeping. We just got back. Hoseok was with her earlier to make sure that she ate something.
Genesis nods slowly as she looks at him.
"I really... don't know how to say this because I really never thought I'd have to. But you understand that Avery is our child, right?"
