ONLY A FEW SHORT HOURS LATER, AND ANASTASIA FOUND HERSELF SITTING IN A BOAT. She'd never been in a boat before, so it was all very exciting for her. The two other first years spoke amongst themselves, but she didn't mind.

She watched the Black Lake in fascination, gently reaching out to run the tips of her fingers along the water. The chatter of the girls beside her faded suddenly faded away, and looked to them, confused, until she followed their line of vision and there it was.

Hogwarts.

"Woah..." She exclaimed quietly. Andromeda had shown her photographs in the past, and it wasn't the first castle she'd visited, but any previous castle was nothing in comparison. If she had to choose, she would easily say it was the most beautiful thing she'd ever seen in her whole life.

The boats pulled up to the dock, and the crowd of first years scrambled out, eager to reach the school sooner. They followed Hagrid into the castle, ignoring his attempts to get them to quieten down, too absorbed in their excitement to care.

It was there they were greeted by a new teacher. Where Hagrid had been kind, and soft, this new teacher stood tall, and firm, but her eyes were gentle, and Anastasia knew at once she wasn't mean.

"Welcome, first years. I am Professor McGonagall." She introduced herself, the noise disappearing instantly. "The start-of-term banquet will begin shortly, but before you take your seats in the Great Hall, you will be sorted into your houses. While you are at Hogwarts, your triumphs will earn your house points, while any rule-breaking will lose house points. There are four houses. Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin."

As Professor McGonagall finished, the giant doors behind her swung open to reveal an enormous dining hall. She knew enough from what her sisters and Sirius had told her to know this was the Great Hall.

The rest of the school was already seated inside, separated onto four, long tables that spanned the distance of the giant room. The ceiling however, is what caught her attention instantly. Narcissa had told her about it, and the way it was enchanted to mirror the sky outside, and to finally see it in person enthralled and excited Anastasia all at once.

The first years followed Professor McGonagall's directions, entering the Great Hall. She couldn't find her sisters as she walked through, but she spotted Sirius, who gave her an encouraging thumbs up. In return, she gave him a little wave, knowing that if she wasn't sorted into Slytherin she would at the very least have his support.

They reached the end of the Great Hall, where a long table was placed, with all of the teachers facing the students. In front of the table, was a stool. And on that stool, was a rather old and raggedy looking hat. After a brief explanation of the sorting ceremony, Professor Mcgonagall began to read out the names. "Anderson, Lucilla."
