Finally Awake #1

Your eyes fluttered open as you adjust to the sudden bright light falling on your eyes. Looking around you notice that you're In... A hospital room..? You looked around and sure enough the room was empty and quiet, the only sound being the beeping on the heart monitor machine that was tracking your heart rate. You were super confused, It's as if you were just helping 𝘓𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 tackle a math question and now you're here.

𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘥...𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘦..?

Your thoughts were soon interrupted by the door knob twisting, making the door open to reveal your mother 𝘚𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘬𝘰 𝘠𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘮𝘪. She had a worried and sad expression but just as her eyes fell on you, she stiffened as if she had seen a ghost however soon that expression was exchanged by relief and happiness. Before you could say anything, your mother ran outside and you presumed that she called the doctors and 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴.

After what felt like an Interrogation by the doctors, they finally left and your much worried family entered..well only your mother and sister as you assumed that your father was speaking with the doctor and your brother decided to listen too so that's why they weren't here yet. You felt a rush of relief wash over you as you saw your mother and your... Sister? She looked different, for a second you couldn't recognize her...she looked significantly older than what you remembered...

Your thoughts were Interrupted yet again but this time It was due to your father and brother entering the room,colors clearly drained from their face.Your family practically ran up to you, bombing you with a bunch of questions mostly about your health.Your eyes however moved to Light who also seemed like he went through a growth spurt overnight. It was bizarre, you could barely recognize 𝘚𝘢𝘺𝘶 and 𝘓𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵. Taking a closer look you realized your parents seemed like they aged too.

"(Y/n)! honey how are you feeling?" Your mom asked with a soft tone as she stroked your head gently. "I'm fine mom" you replied with a small smile as your attention shifted towards Sayu who was trying to muffle her voice by placing her hand over her face, she was crying. It was understandable that as a sibling she's worried about you. Although you should be comforting her, you took your time to analyse Sayu as her mother tried calming her down. Sayu had definitely hit puberty, she appeared to be much taller than what you remembered and her feminine features were more prominent, however according to her height you would assume that she's about 13-14 year old as of now although you remember her being 10.

You took a moment to analyse Light as well. He seemed upset for obvious reasons, he stayed back with dad when mom and Sayu entered, he must've heard what the doctor said and you could almost guess what the doctor said already by your observations. Light was in his high school uniform, he was much taller and his masculine features were way more prominent than what you remember. He must be younger than 18 at least, assuming that he's still in high school and hasn't graduated yet.

𝘚𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘳𝘰 𝘠𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘮𝘪, the father, finally breaks the awkward silence.
"(Y/n).."
You look at your father and flash him a weak smile, gesturing him to continue.
"... (Y/n), I believe you are strong enough to know this." He continued, "The doctors said..you have lost your memories of the past four years" he finished as you thought to yourself.

".. And you have been in a..coma for four days" Light finally speaks up after what seemed like an eternity. You took a moment to think to yourself.

𝘈𝘩 𝘴𝘰 𝘮𝘺 𝘥𝘦𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘵.

Your thoughts were interrupted like it always does by Sayu crying harder this time. You felt upset that you were causing your family pain even though none of it was 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 fault. With all the strength you had, you opened up your arms and gestured crying Sayu and upset Light to come in your arms and they did just that. In a matter of seconds you had two crying teenagers in your arms.

𝘐𝘧 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘥 𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘮𝘺 𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐'𝘮 24 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘢𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘯𝘰𝘸. 𝘐𝘵'𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘧𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺.

"Hey.. It's okay..look I'm completely fine.." You say to the crying teenagers in a gentle tone as you gently Pat their heads. They only sniffed and held you tighter in response.

Suddenly you felt a sharp pain in your body, you realized that you hadn't taken the time to examine your own injuries. You look over your siblings heads to your legs, you had a cast on each leg.

Best case scenario It's a fracture, worst case scenario your legs are broken and you may be handicapped for the rest of your life, although treatment is always an option, you couldn't help but worry.

Your mother seemed to notice your slight distress as she spoke up.
"Don't worry dear, It's just a fracture"
She smiled sweetly at you and you returned the smile feeling a little relieved.
