The majority of language used in this text is NOT slang but is an unofficial interpretation of the English Dialect AAVE (African American Vernacular English). This is not slang originally from TikTok, nor is it GenZ slang. The inspiration for the spellings of some words come mostly from Zora Neale Hurston's novel, Their Eyes Were Watching God, written in 1937.
Example from her book:
"Ah saw yuh when yuh ducked back tuh Starks' house. Well, how didju make out," – "Who, me? Ah ain't been near de place, man. Ah been down tuh de lake tryin' tuh ketch me uh fish," – Their Eyes Were Watching God (page. 38)
If you're confused about why something is said in a certain way, understand that it's a different form of writing, not a lesser form of it. If there's something you need translated, especially when reading dialogue between characters, politely ask for clarification in comments.
