The walk to Itt's apartment was short, the rain a gentle curtain around them. Streetlights cast an orange glow, illuminating the nervous flutter in Itt's eyes. They reached a modest building, tucked away on a quiet side street. As they stopped beneath the flickering porch light, an awkward silence settled.

"Thank you," Itt finally spoke, his voice barely a whisper. "For earlier, and for... well, everything."

Day's gaze lingered on Itt's face, the delicate features illuminated by the soft light. He felt an unfamiliar urge to protect this shy omega, this unexpected challenge to his usual dominance.

"You handled them well," Day said, his voice low and rumbling. "Most omegas wouldn't dare."

Itt blushed, a soft pink dusting his cheeks. "I... I used to live in a pack," he confessed, his voice barely a whisper. "My brother used to protect me, but..." he trailed off, his eyes downcast.

Day's predatory instincts went quiet, replaced by a flicker of empathy. He realized Itt, despite his outward shyness, wasn't entirely without experience or strength.

"You're strong, Itt," he said, reaching out to tuck a stray lock of hair behind Itt's ear. The touch sent a shiver down Itt's spine, a mixture of fear and a strange, exhilarating thrill.

"I'm not," Itt protested, but his voice lacked conviction.

Day held Itt's gaze. "You are. You stood up to those Alphas tonight. That takes strength."

Itt met his eyes, a spark of something defiant flickering in them. "Why are you different?" he asked, surprising them both with his boldness.

Day blinked. "Different?"

"Other Alphas..." Itt hesitated. "They just see me, well..." he looked down at his hands.

Day reached out, gently cupping Itt's face. "I see you, Itt. All of you. The shy omega and the one with the fierce heart."

The warmth of Day's hand sent a jolt through Itt. He felt a blush creeping up his neck, his body reacting to Day's dominant aura in a way he hadn't anticipated. He leaned into the touch, a small, involuntary sigh escaping his lips.

Day's breath hitched. The pull towards Itt was stronger than any omega he'd ever encountered. It wasn't just the rare scent, but something deeper, a connection that resonated on a primal level.

But before he could act on the growing desire, Itt pulled back. His eyes were filled with a sudden fear. "I should go," he stammered, his voice choked.

Day felt a pang of disappointment, but he pulled his hand away, respecting Itt's fear. "Of course," he said, his voice gruff.

Itt turned, his hand reaching for the doorknob. Then, he stopped, hesitantly looking back at Day.

"May I... see you again?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

A triumphant smile spread across Day's face. "I'd like that," he said, his voice warm and sincere.

They arranged to meet at a local cafe the following afternoon, a flicker of hope igniting in both their hearts. As Itt disappeared into the building, Day stood alone under the porch light, the rain a cool curtain against the heat radiating from his skin. He knew this connection with Itt was something different, something he couldn't explain. But one thing was certain: he wouldn't let this shy, beautiful omega slip away. The omega who awakened a protectiveness he never knew he possessed, and a desire unlike any other.
