Tennis Ball glanced at the small clock that was on the shelf beside him. 4:58 PM...they had been trying to fix this thing for about three hours now. He sighed, as he turned back to look at Golf Ball, who was still tinkering with the machine with a concentrated face. For the past few hours, he had tried to convince her to take a break, she's been going at it for way too long, and surely GB was exhausted from all that work. But she kept insisting that she was fine, she knew what she was doing.

Tennis Ball sat up, not sure of what to do. What was he supposed to do? He couldn't keep pleading with GB to stop, plus he didn't want to annoy her any further. "Ah! Yes!", he heard her exclaim, opening his eyes and looking down at her. The gray-haired woman smiled with triumph as she looked up at him. "I think I finally got it fixed!", she said with pride. TB raised his eyebrows. "Really?" She nodded, reaching over to the button that would turn the thing on. "Yes! I told you I'd get it!", her finger now pushing the button. The machine started up, a few clicks and whirrs admitted from it. TB watched the smile on his best friend's face as she stared at it. However, the two heard a noise, one that defiantly wasn't a good sign.

More of these sounds continued, and TB glanced back at GB, now seeing the smile slowly fade off her face. The two heard what sounded like a mini explosion, and a huge puff of smoke came out of the machine. It had broken down again. Golf Ball just stared at the thing in front of her, with a look of hopelessness. All that hard work, all those hours put in, and this is the result. Squeezing her eyes shut, her hands balled up into fists as she banged them onto the ground, with a frustrated grunt. Tennis Ball was quick to get down on his knees, placing his hands on her shoulders. "Hey, hey..Golf Ball! It's okay...", he tried to reassure, but GB angrily swatted his hands away, before facing him. "NO! This is not okay! Do you have any idea how long this took?! All this hard work down the drain!!", GB exploded. TB took a step back. She looked back down. "Don't forget, I did most of the work! So now, it's...it's...", she stammered, her words becoming quieter. She sighed, before sniffling a little. Tennis Ball noticed tears starting to form in his eyes. He quickly went by her again, pulling her into a hug.

"Hey...GB..I know. I get it, you worked really hard on this...just let it out, GB...you've been holding your frustrations in for too long...", he gently whispered, as Golf Ball clutched part of his sweater, now allowing the tears to flow. TB kept his arms wrapped around her, gently swaying his body back and forth, occasionally shushing her and telling her that everything was going to be alright. He hated seeing his best friend like this, he just, cared so deeply about her. As GB's tears were coming to an end, TB looked over at the exit of the room they were in. "Do you...want to lay down? You really should..", he suggested. Golf Ball sniffled, before slowly nodding. "Okay..come on...", he whispered, leading her out of the room and taking her to the bedroom.

Gently placing her down, he brought the blanket over to her. GB took the band out of her hair, letting her hair flow down. "TB...can you...stay? Please?", Golf Ball quietly asked, rubbing her eyes. He smiled, and nodded. "Of course.." He sat on the other side, lying down next to her. She turned to face him, looking down a little. "I'm...I'm sorry I snapped at you...", she apologized. "It's okay, you worked so hard, GB, you just really need to let your feelings out and take a break..", he said. GB then smiled, as Tennis Ball pulled the blanket over himself as well. His face got a little bit red. "Uh...Golf Ball, there's something I need to tell you...", he spat out, before realizing what he just started. Glancing over at him, Golf Ball looked at him. "What is it, TB?" Well, he brought it up anyway, might as well just get this over with...

Mentally preparing himself, he looked Golf Ball in the eyes. "GB...I...I've been wanting to tell you this for...quite a long time now...we've been close to each other for years...we've always stuck together...and...", he stopped, wiping some of the sweat off of his head. "Listen...I think you're a really smart woman, you always had an idea, and it usually benefited our teams..." Golf Ball smiled, as a bit of blush tinged her face as well. "What I'm trying to ask is...Golf Ball...do...do you want to...be my girlfriend..?", he asked, before squeezing his eyes shut, not ready for what she was about to say.

"Of course I will, TB.." His eyes opened again. "Huh..?", he squeaked. "I said of course! To be honest, I've been crushing on you a bit too...I just never knew when I should tell you..you're also really smart, that's something I really admire about you...", she whispered. TB's face went from shock, to a grin. He scooted closer to GB, wrapping his arms around her. She did the same, and soon the two were looking into each other's eyes. "I love you, GB...", Tennis Ball muttered. "I love you too...", GB replied.

And with that, the two relaxed, with their bodies close to each other, and eventually, they had dozed off.
