Chapter fifteen: stress

Lux's POV:

Cady rolled her eyes when I announced to her and Damian that I would get closer to Karen and Gretchen, while Damian seemed excited.

"I will just spend time with them. I won't do anything to manipulate them or harm them okay?", I asked and Janis nodded.

"Of course, I wouldn't want you to be mean but just follow my instructions. I will always be close by and message you things and when you are too far away, make sure to call me so I can listen in and still message you what to do", Janis explained and I was already stressed out.

"She isn't a robot Janis. Why can't you just let her do it by herself?", Cady asked and Janis glared at her.

"Because she is too soft for that. I'm only doing this to protect her. I can't protect her when I don't know what she is doing", she explained.

"Yes queen, you gotta protect your girl from the snakes", Damian said and Cady sighed.

"Oh and most importantly Lux, avoid Regina. Always leave when she is around", Janis said and I just nodded.

I started to look around the yard and I saw Karen and Gretchen sitting on a bench. I took a deep breath and walked towards them.

Janis stayed close to me, but remained out of sight.

"Hey girls... So... Is it okay for you to talk to me?", I hesitantly asked and they both smiled brightly.

"Don't worry, we don't believe Jill. Regina told us the real story. Jill is so weird she is like obsessed with Regina and just petty that you got the attention she wanted", Gretchen said and I sat down on the bench with them.

"Regina told you the real story?", I asked in disbelief. I hightly doubted that Regina told them about her trying to force herself on me.

"Of course she did, she is actually so worried about you. She is even willing to help you but she doesn't because you might want space from her", Gretchen explained and I suddenly received a text from Janis.

'Talk to Karen more, she cracks easier, we need to find out, if they are manipulated or if they are lying on purpose'

I decided to follow Janis' suggestion and looked at Karen.

"Karen... That video of me and Regina... Why did it get posted?", I asked and she shrugged.

"I don't know, I didn't do it", she simply replied.

"Did you send it to someone? Because someone must've had it somehow", I said and her eyes suddenly widened.

"I did send it to someone, a random person on instagram wanted to see all my videos of the party so I sent them everything haha", she said in a bubbly way and even Gretchen looked at her in shock.

"Wait, a random person, who you don't know asked for the videos and you just sent them without question?", Gretchen asked and Karen nodded.

"Karen no, you can't just send random people private things, we agreed to not post that video of Regina and Lux", Gretchen said, putting her hand on her forehead.

"Well I didn't post it", Karen said, not understanding the problem.

"But someone else did because you shared it with them! Regina will be so mad when she finds out", Gretchen said in fear.

'Ask to see the account, Karen sent it to!!!' , another message from Janis said.

"May I see the account you sent it to?", I asked Karen and she opened her instagram dms, showing me the account without question.
