VENUS PIGGOTT hated High School. Mainly because she had to wake up early every day and she wasn't a morning person. Or it was the homework and the tests and learning things. Or the fact that people were assholes. Surely, she wasn't far from it, but still. She knew how to keep her mouth shout and keep her opinions to herself. Thanks to that, she's friends with many people. Well, mostly everyone. If there was a person who she absolutely hated, it was probably Amerie Wadia. Two girls have always been fighting and bickering. They never liked each other and never will. Now, the reason for it was silly, honestly. Venus had a crush on the girl when they were in middle school and Amerie was giving her mixed signals. Than, she told the whole school how Venus tried to kiss her --- sorry, forced Amerie to kiss her. The rumours died down soon, thanks to God. And ever since than, they hated each other. You see, Amerie was a typical bully. Always running her mouth and not giving it a second thought before the words leave her mouth. Venus wasn't like that. And never will be.
Now, she hang out around everybody. She didn't really have a group of people or anything. But she was mostly around Darren and Quinn. She absolutely adored the duo. There was never any drama but all the gossip, thanks to Darren. Venus loved going shopping with them and simply just being around them. The other group of people were Ant, Spider and Dusty. She hang around them too, just not as much. She couldn't handle Spider. Surely, she cared about him and loved him in a friend way, but he could be such a dick sometimes. Now, Ant and Dusty were her friends since she was a little kid. She looked at them as her family. While Cash had Chook, Venus had Dusty, Ant, Darren and Quinny. Sometimes even Spider too.
Venus walked through the schools yard, headphones plugged in. She completely shuted the whole world out. It's something she did sometimes. The sound of "Nervous" by The Neighbourhood filled her ears. She related to that song in some weird kind of way, and that's why it's her favourite. Now, Venus didn't like ignoring people or ghosting them either, honestly. But sometimes, she felt a need to do so. It was fucked up. But she couldn't help herself.
So, when her body collided with another one, she wanted to die of embarrassment. Her books fell out of her hands, and when she looked up, she saw someone that she didn't know. Which probably meant that he was knew. And she immediately cursed herself inside of her head.
Venus stood there frozen in place, staring at the guy who seemed her age, a bit taller and much more gorgeous than any guy she's never seen. He kneeled down, picking her books up. And, in a metter of seconds, her hands were filled with them, once again.
