[Volume 4, START!]
Headache is gone.

Bolt-action rifles were a new piece of weaponry that was slowly replacing the flint-lock muskets of the Military Police. It allowed them to fire multiple shots within one minute without the long reload process of muskets.
Even though it wasn't up to par with the terrorist technology they were up against, it gave them a better fighting chance against an enemy who the people were calling to bring to justice.
According to reports from the stationary Garrison Soldiers around Wall Rose—the terrorists had retreated into the mountains and forests of the Northwest after the Trost Incident, leaving nearly 7000 people dead, with thousands more wounded or missing.
Rapid technological development, due in part to the ongoing conflict and desperate attempts by the unpopular governance to hold onto power by placating the masses with luxuries. A good strategy to employ on an ignorant populace—not one who's already made up their mind.
Two squads of Military Police and Garrison, totalling around 20 men have been dispatched to occupy what their captains dub "Hill 35" within Northwest Wall Maria.
This position dominates the surrounding valley and controls the only crossing, a bridge, over the small river along its base. They're tasked with securing this position to allow for the broader offensive to take hold.
A north-to-south road spans the river at the southern point of the hill. It crosses the hill before moving up the northern slope.
"According to intelligence...there's a small cabin up the road that command thinks is the base for the terrorists," The lead officer says as his group follows each other in a tight formation. "There's not much cover, but loads of forest to blend into. So, as soon as we make contact, rush towards the bush, understood?"
The platoon approches the road from the south road, slowly fanning out into the bush but close enough to maintain communications.
The lead officer took out a spyglass and pointed it towards the hill.
"Yeah! There's...movement...Move in and don't get seen!" He shouted orders.
The assault had begun.

A squad of four from atop Hill 35 glanced from their elevated position, stopping their task of fortifying the area to the sound of chatter.
"Already? This fast?" One muttered, feeling uneasy. "How many are there?"
They knew what to do, equipping themselves for combat and filling their gas quickly.
The man in charge glanced from his position, spotting movement in the bush. "Maybe a squad...or two. They've reported to come in numbers, so there's probably more."
"What do we do then?" The third member asked, glancing at the chemical gas to their side. "Do we use that?"
"No," The lead man denied, shaking his head. "We'll split our fire and defend this position until they make a break for the hill, then we'll mow them down. Me and Sunny will take the forward positions while you and Archie watch the bush."
"On it!"
This squad was rather inexperienced—relying on their technological superiority and defending cautiously.
