Once we were done getting ready, we went down to get in the white Cadillac Escalade waiting for us. We went to the hottest rooftop bar in Miami called, Touché.

I had no idea how she could afford so much, as I could afford so little. I knew Mallory had been raised with very little, as did I. Yet, she has so much for herself. The hottest clothes, nice place to live, fantastic car, and extra money to run around with. Nothing about it made sense to me, but I never question her of it all.

I sat there in the back seat looking out the window at the night sky. That was until a big building blocked my view. We had arrived at our destination. The driver got out once he pulled to the curb and opened my door. I got out and pulled down my little black dress to my mid thigh. I stepped to the side letting Mallory out as she grabbed the drivers hand and pulled her dress down, as her red stilettos hit the pavement of the sidewalk.

She walked in front of me leading us straight up to the doors. And approached the bouncer.

"Mr. Jack Carvers and Mr. Danny Blue, The Girls." She told the bouncer, as he picked up his clip board off the podium.

"Mallory and Stella? I need to see ID's" the bouncer said as we handed over our ID's. He smiled and let us through and handed us our cards back. The place was packed full of people. The music was loud and the smokey air cover our clear vision. Soon enough we made our way near the dance floor.

"There they are. We just have to make our way over to them." Mallory said pointing across the crowded room of people.

"Then let's go. Just start making our way through people. Hold my hand." I said as I took ahold of her hand leading the way.

Once we finally made our way over to the VIP section, she greeted Jack. I had no idea he was an older gentleman. Considering how she'd talk about him. I knew he was older then us, but only by a few years, not 20 something years. Can't judge though. She likes what she likes.

They hugged and we sat on the couch near Jack and Danny. They were both older then Mallory and I. She introduced me and we three exchanged names.  After Danny and I sat in silence as Mallory and Jack spoke to one another. I couldn't help but let my eyes wonder around the club. Not noticing that Danny and Mallory had traded spots.

"So Jack tells me you and Mallory go to the same college." Danny said as he sat down his glass of scotch on the rocks.

"That's correct." I said with a smile holding my head in my hand, with my elbow resting on my knee that was crossed over my other leg.

"What are you going to school for." He said pouring us a glass of champagne.

"Zoology." I answered grabbing the glass as he handed it to me.

"Sounds expensive. How do you manage to pay for that and be able to support yourself darlin'?"

"I struggle. But. I manage to get through. I know it'll all be worth it in the end." I said with a laugh.

"A beautiful girl such as yourself shall never struggle. It makes you age terribly. Next thing you know, another beautiful face wasted, no thanks to useless stress." He said confidently then taking a sip from his glass of scotch.

"At the moment I have no choice. I'm looking for a new job."
"Any luck?"
"None so far."

After I finished my sentence Mallory and Jack got up.

"We are going to the bar for drinks." She said letting me know. And then taking Jack's hand, letting him lead their way to the bar.

I shook my head, letting her know ok. As they both walked off, Danny scooted over closer to me.

"I have something that might help you in your situation." He said.
"And what might that be?" I said asked before taking a sip from my glass.

"I'll pay you double of what you make in a week. On two conditions."
"You're offering me a job?"
"I'm in desperate need of a new assistant at my office. You're a beautiful young woman, in need of a good paying job. Like I said 'A beautiful girl such as yourself shall never struggle. It makes you age terribly.'"

He wasn't lying. I am in need of a good job. School tuition fees won't pay themselves. And I sure can't pay them working at the Food Nook. Plus I don't plan on staying with Mallory forever.

"I'd like to apply for the job." I said sitting down my glass after taking the last sip.

"You don't have to. All you need to do is agree to my two conditions and the job is yours."
"What are they?"

Not knowing what to expect for him to say. I turned to face him as he leaned closer to me.

"Condition one." He started holding up his index finger.
"You quit that silly old waitressing job down at the dumps."

"And condition two?"
"Condition two." He answered now holding up his middle finger with his index finger.
"You agree to be on call no matter what. When I need you, you make sure you're available. I need a reliable assistant, I'll work around your schooling. Think you can do that?"

I relaxed a little and thought about his conditions. I could leave my job and I could be on call when ever. I'd be silly to not take the offer.

"Yes. I can do all that."
"Good." He replied as he reached into his jacket pocket.
"Save these numbers in your phone."

I took the black slick card with blue writing on it. I grabbed my phone out and started putting the numbers in under Mr.Blue.

"Be expecting my call real soon." He said grabbing his glass and leaning back.

I picked up my glass and took a drink. As I began to lean back Mallory and Jack came walking up.

"You. Me. Dancing. Right now." Mallory said taking my free hand and pulling me up. I sat my glass down and followed her lead.

We stayed close to the table but far enough to where we could talk without the worry of the guys over hearing our conversation.

"So what do you think of Jack? Isn't he just wonderful?" She asked as we danced close together.

"He seems nice. Older then what I thought he would be."
"Yeah. But trust me he's young at heart. Plus he takes care of me, respects me, and has his shit together. Unlike these little boys our age."
"I got a great job. Danny just hired me."
As soon as his name escaped my lips, Mallory's hips stopped swaying to the music.
"What job?" Her eyes widen, and face went blank.

"You're looking at his new assistant." I said with a smile and my fingers pointing to my face.

"That's wonderful." Mallory's arms wrapped around my neck.

I didn't understand why her first reaction was so blanked, then once she found out what the job was she was happy.

As the night died down and hours of spending a wonderful time with Danny and Jack. Mallory and I finally decided that it was time to say goodnight and head home. Before serif us off as Mallory and I got in the escalade, Jack gave her a kiss. Danny came around to my side of the car. I had my window down, and Danny looked at me.

"I'm glad you decided to take my offer. Be expecting my call tomorrow." He said as he handed me a folded check.

"What is this for? I haven't.."
I started to say but he interrupted me.

"Consider it as a bonus for leaving waitressing." He said with a wink as he joined Jack and walked off.

As we pulled away I opened the folded check.

"How much is it for?" Mallory asked as our windows rolled up.

"$1,500"  I said holding it in front of me. I couldn't seem to wrap my head around it all.
