Phoebe walked cautiously in the diner, to not startle the ghost. She started her proton pack, as she aimed it towards the ghost—she realised she couldn't just "shoot". She froze in her tracks.

Melody looked at her, "Boo."

It was Melody. The ghost girl she played chess with; who made her feel seen. She only met her once, but she made her feel... nice. She was looking forward to their next game of chess, but she would never admit this.

"Phoebe?" Podcast asked, confused, and annoyed. His eyes dart back and forth towards Phoebe and the ghost, as he noticed that Phoebe was just staring at the ghost, as the ghost stared back, but he couldn't risk it. The ghost might be dangerous. And Phoebe... Phoebe felt torn. She didn't want to blast Melody. She didn't want to hurt her; to capture her. In that one game of chess, she's never felt anything like this—intense emotion. In a way, she was captivated, and she couldn't explain why, or how.

"Blast it." He exlaimed, pointing at the ghost.
"It?" Melody looked towards Podcast, raising her eyebrows. She was offended, afterall, she was a person, before she died.
"Phoebe, what are you doing?!" He exclaimed, as Phoebe looked at him. He was now irritated, as he tried to put the pieces together, as to why Phoebe would not just blast the ghost, after she had blasted several other ghosts in the previous months.
"Who's the third wheel?" Melody asked apathetically. She was piqued by Podcast. She was, undeniably, jealous. Who was Podcast to Phoebe? Are they just friends? She knew she shouldn't be asking these, but she couldn't help it. There was just something about Phoebe. She kinda likes Phoebe.
"Why are you just standing there? Fire her!" Podcast said in exasperation, still couldn't grasp why Phoebe wasn't blasting the ghost. He was now quite aggravated by Phoebe, who was still frozen in place.

Phoebe finally walked slowly, as she sat down, opposite to Melody. Melody was taken aback. She thought Phoebe would just shoot her, in fact, she was ready to flee, in case Phoebe actually did shoot her.

"Hi." Phoebe finally says, after what felt like eternity, with a shy smile. She really has a cute smile, Melody thought.

Podcast was left baffled by this exchange. How could Phoebe interact with a ghost? Why does Phoebe look shy? He finally noticed the tension between the two. They were shy around each other. He felt stupid that it took awhile for him to see this. His friend has a crush on the ghost—not just a ghost, but a ghost who is a girl. He's now just standing, observing the two. Melody was right, he was now a thirdwheel; he felt like a thirdwheel. He felt like he shouldn't be watching them, but at the same time, they should be aware that he was there?

"Hey, Spengler." Melody said with a grin. She was ecstatic that Phoebe didn't shoot her with her gun and all, but most importantly, Phoebe was talking to her, when she was supposed to capture her. She then remembered Podcast.
"So... who's the thirdwheel?" She repeated.
"Huh?" Phoebe asked confused, as Melody looked towards Podcast. Phoebe followed Melody's gaze, as she realised she was talking about Podcast.
"Oh. That's Podcast."
"Podcast?" Melody laughed, "Is that his real name?"

Phoebe couldn't get her eyes off of Melody. Her laugh was so cute; adorable, she thought. It made her smile widely.

"Oh, no. It's just that he makes podcasts. The 'Mystical Tales of the Unknown Universe'" Phoebe explained, as Podcast interjected.
"Or the MT-double-U. I make supernatural podcasts."
"That's interesting." Melody said, still laughing.
"Yeah! It is!" Podcast exclaimed.
"That was sarcasm." Melody said, earning a laugh from Phoebe.

Phoebe kept looking at Melody's lips. Her lips looked so soft; pretty; and so... kissable. They were separated by a table, but that doesn't mean she couldn't admire Melody.

'God, what is wrong with me?' Phoebe thought, but she couldn't shake the thought of Melody. She was attracted to her. She wanted to know more about her.

"Hey, my eyes are up here, Spengler." Melody said with a smirk, pointing to her eyes. Phoebe turns red at this remark.
"You're blushing, Phoebes." Melody smiled. She was entertained, but this has made her confront her feelings for Phoebe. There are billions of people in the world, why would Phoebe like her, a ghost; a part of a different dimensional plane?

Phoebe felt shy, as she struggled to find the words in her mouth. "I— Erm— Uh— Do... you... wanna hang out...?" She nervously asked, looking down, fidgeting with her proton gun. It was a long shot.
"I mean... you— you don't have to... if you don't want to, of course." She continued, feeling sad, at the thought of Melody saying no.
'This wasn't a date, right?' She thought.

'Cute', Melody thought. She touched Phoebe's chin gently, lifting her head, as she stared at the girl with a smile, "Of course, I'll hang out with you, Phoebes."

Phoebe smiled at this. She was about to say something, when Podcast interrupted their moment.
"Did you just ask a ghost to a date?" He exclaimed. To say that he was shocked was an understatement.
"Thirdwheel." Melody muttered under her breath, irritated that he interrupted their moment.
"I'll pick you up, Phoebes. Tomorrow, at 6." She continued with a smile.
"But, I— I haven't told you where?" Phoebe asked, confused.
"I'll find you." Melody offered a soft smile, as she vanished, leaving Phoebe alone, just like the last time she saw her.

Phoebe stood up, as Podcast approached her.
"So... girls?" He asked, as Phoebe shrugged.
"Yeah."
