Vows of Vermilion, A tale of Saanjh and Aarka

The Homecoming

As they were sitting inside the car,Saanjh was trying to take some deep breath Arka on notice of her hand shivering said,

"It's gonna be okay, you are doing well! I promise You're never gonna have a tear over anything other than this."

Next morning they reached their destination,Saanjh opened her eyes to the words of Arka saying

"laadli get up we've reached."

She lifted her head from his shoulder acknowledging the position they were in on the way.She looked out of the window and saw they were infront of the house and everyone was waiting for them"

Soon the couple was welcomed and celebrated

Now she was sitting at Arka's room while missing her own room and realising how everything changed so abruptly but one thing she was happy about is that Aarka is kinda loving and supportive towards her.

All the rituals were done for the new bride with haste the reception passed and the crowd in the house started to disappear. They were left with only one ritual that is the puja before they start living as a couple in the house. At evening with near and dear members the puja was done in the couple's room and a Diya was lightened up before the divine Idol, the couple was instructed to look after the dia for the entire night and not to sleep. It's for the peace and love for their new life.

Now at night everyone went by, the couple was asked to lock the room and look after the dia.

Saanjh in her mind was chattering" dekhte hai Mr.Patidev kitna saath dete h, Aaj raat pta chal jayega."

With a smirk she sat on the mat facing the dia and waiting for Aarka's move, Aarka came by and sat beside her and said "neend to nhi aa rhi na!"

Saanjh replied,"kyun! Patidev ko neend aane lagi kya bechare!"

Aarka said,"I swear tonight would have been totally different if it was not for this Puja, meri to kya tumhari v neendein uda kar rakh deta."

Saanjh replied"Hello! mister Focus krein iss diye par humara future iss eklaute diye k bharose tika hai,aisa sbka kehna hai"

Arka,"of course huh! Diya is important I don't believe in all these but now it is somewhat important to me." Saying this he laid his head on Saanjh's lap. Saanjh looking into his eyes said,
"so na jaana aap."

Aarka replied,"do cheezein hein pehli ki yaha sbse sukoon bhari neend ayegi or dusri samne ye ankhein sone v nhi dengi."

Saanjh got awkward and got up saying Let me clean up the space a little. She went to the dressing table and was arranging her stuff ,Arka too got up and was thinking what the hell am I saying today I hope she is not uncomfortable.

Then he moved to the mirror close to her and stared at the pretty reflection of hers arranging all the stuff.

Saanjh sensed him looking at her and asked "you need something?"

Aarka lost in her eyes abruptly said "you!".

Saanjh got a little nervous now.
Aarka felt it in the air and said,
"look I never meant to make you feel nervous am really sorry but I have fallen deeply for you,and now that You are my wife I can't believe it what did I do to deserve such a lovely partner." Let's just talk today and get to know each other, I am talking rubbish today so sorry for that."

Saanjh replied," I understand, and it's not your fault we are actually a couple now and it's obvious to have some expectations from your partner am sorry that am all nervous with all these new relationships,home n stuff also am Little worried about my official holiday and how am I gonna continue my job."

Aarka said," yeah! Your job I was about to mention that soon we will be off to Delhi , you're gonna have to shift to my place not a big deal" Saanjh said, "Aarka aap samjh nhi rhe main bahu hu ab iss ghr ki and now I have some responsibilities towards our family and..."

Aarka interrupted "and what this family of yours wants you to continue your job and to move with me ,see mom and dad are pretty cool about it they already had the idea of it so chill."

With this the night passed the two of them kept discussing about their new life, Aarka was sitting on the mat resting his back on the wall and Saanjh beside her looking at the Diya and waiting for the night to over, Aarka said "I've always wished for someone who is just like you and see I'm blessed with you,I' ve changed as a person just being with you,I believe I can do anything for you this a new sense of personality is developing in me and I am glad for it."saying this he put his hand on her waist and pulled her closer to him.

Saanjh looked into his eyes and her face turned red suddenly the phone rang and broke the moment,Aarka picked up the call it was his mother asking "so nhi gye na beta dono! Kch der m subha ho jayegi before everyone gets up you guys have to take a shower and keep the Diya in the Mandir okay!" Aarka assuring her said, "haa maa aap chinta na kro so jaao,ho jayega yeh bhi."

Both of them after completing the rituals came back to their room it was already morning and Pehli rasoi of Saanjh and she needs to cook something sweet for the entire family and the couple has to take the blessings from all the elders.

Saanjh cooked Kheer and put it as Prasad first and took the first bowl with Aarka to his grandfather the rich old man known for his business skills entirely,He on tasting said,"hmm it's delicious! I bless we all have a sweet relationship just like this kheer" everyone liked the dish and blessed the couple her mother in law has always wanted a girl in the house as Aarka being the only son she could barely share with him to some extent, now she is happy to have a companion with her.

Things went on everyone was happy.
