The alternate universe/ imagination

( This one was a comment in a post about the show but it's still a theory)

They didn't put evidence in the comment themselves but they did state that this could be true and it could very well be since we know that the Martians went through a portal to get to Pretty Big City so I think it's more likely that it's an alternate universe instead of someone's imagination

But how did this universe come to be and why was the portal in Sesame Street?

Well, we might not have all the answers but maybe someone was testing something in Sesame Street and it went wrong causing the alternate universe where Elmo, Abby, and Cookie are robots along with Tango where a lot of wacky stuff happens.

I think this is the case because this might explain why the portal appeared in Sesame Street maybe it was because it was created by someone in Sesame Street by accident but they didn't know how to get rid of the portal so it was just left there and the Martians found it.

This seems to make the most sense to me because I don't think this world is Sesame Street. After all, it's so different that it can't be the same.

If this is true then we need to figure out who would have made the portal

Honestly, I don't have a lot of ideas as to who made the portal exactly I mean the only ones I could see maybe doing this are the Count and Abby by accident maybe they were both trying some type of magic but it made the portal instead of doing what they wanted.

I don't think the Martians made it because they didn't understand what happened either and they didn't know about the portal which means they did not make it.

And no I don't think Elmo, Abby, Tango, and, Cookie went into the portal because they were still in Sesame Street when episodes were being made/aired which means they did not go into that world so it must have been just made

( As to why I think it only had four people from the actual Sesame Street I don't know remember alternate universes are very different from the actual realities so them being the only ones from the original show makes sense this might also be the reason to why they are robots in the show it was because the alternate universe was made and it made the for them but they came out as robots because it wasn't supposed to be exactly like Sesame Street)

But I think the Martians may have ruined this because they went through the portal and were just like their Sesame Street counterparts so they must have done something because remember everyone in Pretty Big City, Treetop Woods, and Sunny Field Farm/The Launch site it's supposed to be different from Sesame Street.

I don't know what they could have done to the world but they weren't supposed to be there so they must have done something we just don't know what they could have done maybe they were the reason why the asteroid showed up in the first place it was because of them

They noticed this so they sent them a pie to correct their mistake but the portal disappeared so they had no way to get back until some rare occasions.

Also, The Mecha Builders always come through a portal and leave through a portal in every episode this could also lead to this being an alternate universe.

( but remember we don't know for sure that this is an alternate universe this could be Elmo's imagination )

( I hope you don't mind that I build off of the theory you just didn't have much in there so I decided to come up with some of my ideas)

(Another thing to point out when the Martians get to pretty big city they immediately say explore which proves that they did not know what that portal went and they didn't know about the portal because they looked confused when they saw it )
