SCRUFF'S TAIL

chapter 1

"Scruffy, come inside!" His humans yell out. Scruffy stops digging and quickly runs to his humans."Let's go to the park to play fetch Scruffy!"His human yelled out excited. Scruffy barked and started wagging his tail from side to side. His owners recently colored his chest and the tip of his tail blue. His owner turned on the car, and Scruffy got scared of the loud roaring noise the car made. "Dont be scared, Scruffy, get in!" His humans yelled out to him. Scruffy then got in the car, and his humans started driving to the park. The car stopped. Scruffy looked out the window of the car and saw a bunch of other dogs running around. His owner got out of the car and opened the door for Scruffy. Scruffy jumped excitedly out of the car. His owner then pulled out a rubber ball and threw it. Scruffy chased after the ball and caught it in his jaws. He retrieved back to his owner and dropped the ball in front of them.

His owner threw the ball again, but this time, they threw it too far. Scruffy still chased the ball, hoping to catch it. He then caught it. He turned back only to realize he was lost. He looked at the forest behind him and ran into it. "I think im lost, and now im in a forest!" Scruffy barked. "I need food, and what's better than to hunt!"
Scruffy crouched into a hunting position and started sniffing around. " I smell rabbit." Scruffy barked quietly. He stalked the rabbit, and then once it was time, he'd poune on the rabbit.
Scruffy then picked up the rabbit in his jaws and continued walking.
"Whats that smell?' He barked.Then
an unfamiliar dog popped out from the bushes standing in front of Scruffy. "Hand over that rabbit or die!" The unfamiliar dog barked. "Im not letting you tale my food!" Scruffy growled. "Hey, wait a minute, you have a collar. You're a housepet!" The unfamiliar dog barked. "That must mean you're weak." Scruffy then barked."If you think im weak, then let's fight for the food. Whoever wins gets it."Alrighty housepet, this will be easy." The unfamiliar dog barked. Scruffy then leaped onto the dog and sank his teeth into its neck. The dog struggled to get free and ended up biting Scruffys leg. Scruffy jumped and growled at the dog. "Not bad for a housepet, eh?" The dog barked. "I'll let you keep the rabbit, oh, and what's your name housepet?"My name is Scruffy." Scruffy ruffed. "Cool name, I guess my name is Lola." She barked.

"Want me to catch a rabbit for you, Lola?" Scruffy barked with his head held high. "I usually dont accept offers from hosuepets, but sure, why not im starving!"Lola ruffed. Scruffy crouched into a hunting position and sniffed around. He spotted a rabbit. Je then pounced on the rabbit and killed it. He picked the rabbit up and walked towards Lola. "Here." He barked while dropping it in front of Lola."You're good at hunting." Lola barked. "Thanks!" Scruffy ruffed, wagging his tail from side to side. They then ate their rabbits and realized it was getting dark. "You should get going back to your humans they probably miss you." Lola barked. "About that im lost, and I like being a stray!" Scruffy growled. "If you want to be a stray, you dont need that collar." Lola growled while ripping his collar off his neck. Scruffy stared in shock at his collar that was now ripped in half on the ground. "I did you a favor!" Lola barked. "Uh yea, we need to find shelter to sleep before it gets too late, though!" Scruffy growled."Dont worry, I know a place, and it's filled with other dogs!" Lola barked excitedly. "Other dogs?" Scruffy barked with a tiny bit of fear in his voice. "Scaredy dog, it's just dogs follow me." Lola barked.
