A Gentle Push Forward

Bell couldn't sleep.

No matter how much he tossed and turned in his space on the couch. He couldn't help but think about the events of today earlier and his own need to do something. Sitting up on his couch as he looked around the room he and Hestia shared in the church.

Looking at their belongings and plates set by the table. To then turn towards the single bed they had and saw his Goddess sleeping soundly. Getting out of the couch, he tip-toed over to one side of the bed. Grabbing his dagger and bag as he was making sure not to make a sound.

He peeked over his shoulder to see Hestia still asleep. A saddened smile came across his face as he strapped the dagger by his side and placed the bag around him. Carefully pulling the bed sheets up as they were lowered by her tossing and turning, almost revealing herself as she often wore a baggy shirt far to big her size. Careful as to not wake her, he pulled the sheets up over her until she snuggled into the blanket's warmth.

"Sorry, but I need to do this Lady Hestia. I'll be back soon." Bell whispered as he crept up towards the stairs. Exiting the church as he dashed towards Babel Tower and headed towards the guild. Sneaking by and avoiding the patrol guard's sights as he entered the dungeon. Taking out his knife now as he fought his way down to each floor and killing and hoarding the Magic Stones. Leaving the few drops aside as he continued down his path onward.

His mind wandered on towards earlier today. Recalling how he was captured and beaten nearly an inch within his life. Until he was saved by that kind redheaded woman she found him in that room. Turing out to be a medical bay for a Familia she was a part of.

'Even if she said it was fine how I'm progressing...I still feel like it's not enough!' He thought to himself. Slashing and avoiding the blows and attacks from the Monsters. Cutting them apart as he kept going and carving them to chunks. Not even bothered by the blood splashing against his face.

Running and running onward as he cleared each floor and path from monsters and moved onto another. His breath shaky as he ran and jumped down the stairway leading to now the sixth floor. His scream echoed as he charged into a hoard of Frog Shooters and now forming War Shadows.

'These Monsters...War Shadows and Frogs. Eina and Misha warned me about them...Rookie Killers.' Bell thought, remembering the lessons he undertook and studied on his own time. Jumping to the left as he narrowly avoided a few of the Frog's tongue shooting out to him. And ducked in time before the War Shadow could claw at his back.

'They're fast, but I'm faster!' Bell's eyes gleamed as he jumped to his left again, dodging the tongues shot towards him. With his bare hand he caught one of the tongues and gripped it. Wrapping it around his wrist, flinching at how slimy and cold it felt as he pulled on the tongue and was now swinging the Frog Shooter and smacking it into the other Monsters around it.

'I'll use these Frog Shooters as a means to get some distance away from the others. Toss it around to hit the other Monsters to leave them dazed from the hit.' He eyed around the area as he saw a few War Shadows now colliding with one another or to other Frogs as they fell back. Seeing a few Frogs now on their backs and trying to bounce themselves up, he made his move.

Releasing his grip on the tongue he held and decided to toss it at a War Shadow getting up. Seeing it hit the Monster with enough force to knock it back and kill the Frog Jumper he used as a weapon, Bell drew out his dagger and killed the three flopping on their backs and cutting the head of the War Shadow he stunned.

'And kill them in the most critical spots! I need to lower these numbers otherwise I'll be trapped by their tongues.' Bell looked around as he pounced onto another Frog and stabbed it through the head between the eyes and cutting its head or neck to be sure. Seeing it disperse into a plume of smoke and dropping its magic crystal as he moved onto the next and then another.
