The next morning, Dawson and Erica were already up and walking in forest next to the hotel. It was a beautiful morning, considering the birds were singing, no clouds in the sky and the sun shines ever so brightly. They were just about the edge of a cliff as they take the time to look at the view of the mountain and take in that wonderous smell of the freshly summer breeze. Of They were unaware of what happen last night with the caretaker and the chant he cast upon them. Unaware of the magic that would soon affect them.

All they seem to worry about is the fact that they wanted to have a good time and to enjoy each other's company. Though, in the back of his mind, Dawson couldn't help, but to have a strange sensation that something's not right. He brushes off, of course, trying not ruin this trip for Erica's sakes. "Dawson, come on!" he heard Erica calling a few inches away from him as he turns to see her at the beginning of a trail and waving at him to come over.

It was obvious that she wants to continue hiking the forest. Actually, it's one of the things that made him fall in love with her in the first place. There were other reasons, but that was the main one, her enthusiasm and optimism. "Let's continue for another mile and we'll head back."

"Okay, hon," Dawson says as they continue to walk. Meanwhile, the caretaker and Megan prepare their room. Megan sighs sadly knowing what lies for the couple. "I think we should tell them, we own them that at least," she says, as the caretaker tries to ignore her. "You know that we do. They should at least have the right to choose."

"No!" The caretaker yells stopping whatever it is that he was doing to look at Megan. "You know the rules of the deal, Megan. We can't expose the magic, we can only make the magic stronger, and we have to in order to stay alive."

Megan looks down because she knows that deep down, he's right. Or at least, in their mind, he is. Looking back, Megan remembers the last memory before they too became part of this hotel and everything that led up before it. It was a long time ago and just like the couple, they too came here for a nice vacation. The caretaker at the time was the reason they couldn't leave this hotel. Like Dawson, and Erica, the caretaker before, cursed them with this very spell. Forcing them to make a deal. A deal that involves them getting 2000 humans to be trap in this hotel and exchange for their freedom. Megan hates having to do that especially to Dawson and Erica.

Because now, Megan knows that her master has to force them to do the same. The caretaker looks at her with sadness and comprehension. He sighs and speaks. "I hate this just as much as you do, Megan. But we got to do it. Don't you want to keep living?" She nods slightly.

"Then we have no choice," The caretaker continues, continuing with whatever he was doing earlier. Megan couldn't help, but to look on the ground with a sad look on her face.

After a while, they left the room just in time as Dawson and Erica were coming in from their hike, considering that they were laughing at each other.

"Just stay quiet," the caretaker whispers to Megan as she nods, and they stood next to the door on opposite side of each other. "And let me do the talking."

Just as the couple walks up the door, both the caretaker and Megan smiles. "Had a good time on your hike, Mr. Shores?" The caretaker asked as Dawson stops before touching the knob and looks at him. He was confused of how he knew that they were hiking but brush it off and nods.

"Umm...Yeah, we had a great time. We are planning to do it again tomorrow."

"Excellent sir," the caretaker says with a smile and watches them to enter the room when he stops them. "Oh, umm... We clean up your room and restock up your bathroom. As well as changes your sheets for you."
