To say that Phoebe was panicking was an understatement. It was now 5:30, and she was still indecisive about what to wear—and if Melody would actually show up. For all she knows, this was all just a prank.

Finally, she opted for an olive green jacket, as she heard a knock on her window.

She looked at the window, as she saw Melody, standing—or well, floating. She walked towards the window, as she opened it.

"Hey." Melody said with a shy smile, "So... are you ready?"
"Yeah." Phoebe smiled, "So... where... are we going?"
"Well, since I can't eat, figured we could just talk, you know? While we take a stroll in the streets. A talk date." Melody said the last part confidently, with a smirk. Phoebe's cheeks were now as red as a tomato. She was blushing hard. She wasn't really expecting Melody to say it was a date. She just hoped it was, and as it turns out, it was, in fact, a date.

"So... it's a date." Phoebe said with a wide smile, as she climbed down her window.
"Was... that not... a date... when you asked?" Melody said, as her face fell. Did she misunderstand Phoebe? Was this not a date? A million other questions flooded her mind, with the same concept. She felt sad; disappointed, that this was not a date.
"No!" Phoebe said loudly, earning a shock from herself, which also shocked Melody. She didn't expect that the girl could be so loud. Phoebe was lucky that her mother and Trevor didn't wake up to her voice.
"I kinda hoped... it was? It was my intention." She continued shyly. Melody's face turned bright at this.
"That's good... I also kinda hoped it was." Melody softly smiled, as Phoebe reached the bottom of the fire escape stairs, jumping down to the pavement.

Phoebe and Melody started walking, side by side, stealing glances at each other; staring longingly. Melody would really love to hold her hand—she wasn't sure if she should. What if Phoebe doesn't want to hold her hand?

Phoebe hoped for the same thing—to be able to hold her hand, but she wasn't sure how; if she was able to hold her hand. After all, Melody is a ghost.

"So... what did you love to do? When you were alive, of course." Phoebe asked, seemingly quite interested in Melody, breaking the silence. She is interested in Melody. She wanted to know everything about Melody. She just wished that... she had met her before Melody's flat caught on fire.
"I spend time in the diner, helping out whenever I can. Now, I just hang by the park, scaring people by moving their chess pieces." Melody grinned.
"Yeah... you really do a great job at scaring people, Mel."
"You're the only one who wasn't intimidated, Phoebe." Melody gave her a pointed look, as they stopped in their tracks, looking at each other.

They stared at each other, longingly; full of emotions. They didn't dare to move. They savoured the moment, hoping that they wouldn't forget it. They didn't realise that they were inching forward towards each other.

Phoebe really wants to kiss her. She wondered if she could, actually. If Melody could move the chess pieces, could she also touch humans? Or would it be like just... air? Her thoughts were interrupted, as Melody whispered something.

"What are you thinking about, Spengler?" She said softly, breaking the comfortable silence.
"...You..." Phoebe shyly replied as Melody tucked the loose curls behind Phoebe's hair, causing Phoebe to blush.
"Phoebe..." Melody said, in a hopeful manner, with shyness.
"Can I... kiss you?" She continued, as Phoebe nodded, slowly.

Phoebe finally felt cold lips against hers, as she kissed her back. It was soft—her lips were indeed soft. Turns out, she can touch ghosts. It's actually possible for humans and ghosts to have physical contact, even when they're on two different dimensions. This disproves what quantum mechanics states.

Melody put her hands on Phoebe's waist, as she kissed her fiercely; passionately. They only pulled back, because they were running out of breath. They both smiled at this kiss, and it was evident that they both enjoyed it.

Phoebe was flabbergasted. She never thought she would ever be able to kiss Melody, due to her being a ghost—or for her first kiss to be shared with a ghost. She wanted to squeal. She was happy; quite ecstatic.

"This... was my first kiss." Phoebe said, looking at Melody's eyes, holding a deep contact.
"Don't worry, it's mine too, you know?" Melody said, offering a soft smile.

Phoebe felt a surge of emotions—but mostly happy, and excited, about what the future would bring. And Melody... Melody felt the same way. Until Phoebe realised that it's almost 12. Time really flies like an arrow... when you're spending it with someone you love.

'Oh." Phoebe thought. This feeling was foreign to her. It scared her. The way she thought of it so... naturally, even when she didn't know what she was feeling yet. It was beyond friendship; more than a friendly manner.

"It was good." Phoebe smiled.
"I sure hope so, because I really want to do it again." Melody smirked, seeing Phoebe turn red.

They were now on their way back to the firehouse, as Phoebe and Melody walked closely, fingers grazing softly. Melody took this as an opportunity to hold Phoebe's hand. They both smiled at this contact, with Phoebe stealing glances at their intertwined hand. Melody's hand was cold, but it didn't bother Phoebe. It was now a new feeling she wanted to do, over, and over, again.

They finally reached the firehouse. It was time to say goodbye. This devastated Phoebe a little since she didn't want to say goodbye yet. She wanted a little bit more time with her, but she also knew that if Callie found her gone, she would get shit for it. But... should she say goodbye? When she's going to see her again—she hopes.

"I actually had fun tonight." Phoebe resorted, as she flashed Melody a huge smile. She really did have fun tonight, even if they just... talked... and other stuff.
"So... does this mean we can do this again?" Melody asked, in a hopeful tone, as Phoebe nodded.
"I'm still beating you in chess though." Phoebe playfully said.
"I'd like to see you try, Spengler." And there it is again. Melody's confident smirk.

They smiled at each other for a few moments, as Melody leaned down, confusing Phoebe.

"Good night, Phoebes." Melody said, leaving a soft kiss on Phoebe's cheek before disappearing.

Phoebe's smile widened, as she brought her hand up to where Melody kissed her. She had a good night, indeed.
